And she has listed both Graphics card AND Video card. I'm sorry if I am mistaken, but aren't they the exact same thing?

Maybe she's thinking back to the days when you had a 2D video card with an add on 3D accelerator?

Oh yes I forgot about them, haven't seen them since the 90's tho......

I had considered the same thing strangely, it's been well....10 ish years since that was around

Or even a "video card" used for the graphics intensive moddling where as the graphics card (I remember) being the "gaming" one. If you can call it gaming. Minesweeper, Bipbop and god forbid, the dreaded Runscape!!

Remember to get a hard drive to put all your components inside. And a sound card.

Blow her mind with a trinity build.

CPU, one stick of RAM, motherboard, case, SSD, PSU.

Don't assume that because they teach IT, that they know a thing about how a computer works in terms of hardware. Mine were clueless when I was at school. :p

In ours, we had to say that the disadvantage of CDs was that data could not be written even though CD writers were already available.:( Was no telling them.

This,

Chances are that your teacher has never played around with the insides of a PC and knows very little about components beyond what she is required to teach you.

The teacher may also be hamstrung by the age of the textbooks and syllabus that she is required to teach you. These advance much more slowly that advances in Technology.

Better off teaching kids how to touch type proficiently to be able to use PCs productively. Learn how to use spreadsheets, write code, look at coder dojo for example.
