Looks like Sony are trying to come up with a poor mans Kinect

A couple of features we'd hoped to hear more about have been confirmed, and the first is that the PS4 camera will support both voice and gesture control. It's no surprise that the system will take full advantage of the add-on's dual cameras and four mics for people who want to wave at their TVs, but it's nice to have that confirmed.
So, add the Camera and a copy of FIFA14 or Forza 5, to the bundle and PS4 is more expensive than X1. Granted you don't have to buy the PS4 camera which given it sounds pretty poor by comparison and unlikely to get much support is probably a good thing. :) ;)

The playroom tech demo has demonstrated more innovative stuff, it certainly looks more fun than Kinect 1.0 ever did

I would also say that most gamers would just want a console for gaming, the TV features are extra. Personally i don't care for the TV or Kinect, I just want the best possible console which will run games at there best.

The PS4 will certainly beat xbox one with games taking full advantage of its hardware, be it higher resolution, textures or fps.

As much as i like Forza I cant justify paying £430 for a console with inferior hardware to its competitor when the hardware is already so far behind PC. Lets not forget that people who get the day one edition only get a free game.

You can also argue that MS have focused tapping into Nintendo's pool now and media, they've scrimped not putting higher spec hardware in its machines.

On another note, When can we expect digital foundry reports, will they benchmark them before release ?

Out of interest which ones are confirmed as being 1080P? ;)

The Order: 1886 = 1920x800 (letter box)
KillZone: Shadow Fall = 1920x1080 (MP=60fps, SP=30fps)
Infamous: Second Son = 1920x1080
DriveClub = 1920x1080
Resogun = 1920x1080
Knack = 1920x1080
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag = 1920x1080
Thief = 1920x1080
Blacklight: Retribution = 1920x1080
Warframe = 1920x1080
Call of Duty: GHOSTS = 1920x1080

So just 10 out of all the titles announced so far, poor show. The Order at 1920x800 is no more 1080P than Ryse which sort of proves anticoncience's point, thank you :) ;)

I think the rest of the launch titles are indie games which are bound to be 1080p.

But if going to 1080p means a wobbly frame rate and graphical fidelity much the same as it is now, I'd rather stick with 720p!

I like you, you're funny... :)

There's quite a big difference actually. Ryse will just be stretched up to 1080p resulting in inferior picture quality, where as The Order is unusual, because it has black bars at the top and bottom like a movie, it's technically only showing 800 lines but because it won't be stretched vertically, it will still be mapped 1:1 pixels :)

And these are only the CONFIRMED 1080P games. Much more are likely to be 1080p however have not been officially confirmed yet :)

Oh I dunno - we're already at 10% of PS4 games not able to support 1080P according tot the confirmed list.

Ah, a man who get's it and understands it's not a ******* contest about theoretical meaningless numbers. You're quite right although as we've said before common sense has no place in console fandom which is why I thought I'd give some of the screaming Sony fangirls a prod, you could almost hear them foaming at the mouth at the shock revelation that Ryse might "only" be 900p (albeit scaled up to 1080p much as I expect any PS4 titles less than 1080p will be) :) ;)

So 800p then, worst result of any next gen game yet announced... I'm sure everyone could produce their game in low res and claim it's actually "cinematic" bars, not lack of performance...

But no other games are doing this so your point is mute. But keep up the Xbox fanboy work while you hypocritically moan at other people for apparently being PS4 fanboys ;)

Source that "no other games are doing this"? or is that yet another of your made up assumptions? Happy to stick to facts although even by your own"facts" that's still a 10% strike rate.. tut, tut...
