Few days ago, BlackBerry has announced its new 5-inches large display smartphones Z30, and yesterday found more photos of it when browsing CrackBerry. I think it may be the largest BB handset? Mine Z10 only features 4.2-inches screen. I am already very satisfied with 4.2-inches, but with larger screen I'll be happier.

However larger display will definitely result in heavier weight! Luckily, only slightly heavier than the Z10. I am focusing on its design which looks classy and flowing. And unlucily, no difference to the camera of Z10.

Above are what I appreciated to Z30. Interesting to note that it has a much higher capacity battery ( though a small one compared with Samsung Note3 ). Because I don’t want to lower the setting and Z10’s pathetically lower capacity at battery, I’ve already bought MPJ extended 2750mAh battery as my spare battery. Then Z30 comes with a 2880mAh battery, but it’s non-removable! Once the phone run out of juice we'll have to find a charger! At this point, I really prefer an removable battery…and why it looks even thicker without a removable battery???

Overall, no much difference between the Z10 and the Z30, and you may get a faster device, bigger display and better battery life at the same price. Besides, only black colour available for Z30…so I think I am not going to retire my BB10 or get a Z30…

No.

Can you imagine the discussion between R&D, Marketing & Sales?

Sales: We aren't doing very well. BB10 and Z10 is selling about as hot as ice cubes these days. What can we do?

Marketing: We've been observing our competition, looking at competitor's trends, it seems people want bigger phones...

R&D: We can make the Z10 bigger, same spec, fit a bigger screen and more juice so it last longer. Wack our beloved BB10 in and we're good to go.

Marketing: Sounds brilliant! Make it so.

Sale: Of we go to sell...

General Consumer: Look, that dead horse just gotten bigger.

who the hell buys Blackberry's these days ?!

apart from the OP :p

I do:p

Anyhow i will be getting one as it does offer a few new things ie USB to go is one new feature, wont be supported on the Z10 unfortunately from what i have heard.

For the time being im sticking with my Z10, the new 10.2 OS update should be out by next month but really im just waiting for it to drop in price as im loathed to pay £500+ for a new phone and plus i got to replace my mums iphone4 with the new iphone 5S so the Z30 can wait a bit.

If anything im looking forward to the 10.2 OS update on my Z10, should make a great device even better but none of you phandroids can get your heads out of your arse far enough to even give it a chance:p.

Oh and OP, there is a white version that will be out sometime in Oct if you fancy having a gay white phone:p

Lots of people, including myself gave them a chance but delay after delay after delay mixed in with some stagnant development and a content less application store makes them just about irrelevant.

The unique features that Blackberries once had have all but evaporated as the competition moved on or companies realized they just didn't need them.

Throw that in with the high cost of the handsets and it's a road to extinction in today's market.

I'd hazard a bet that the Z30 will be just about their last handset before the software and service dept is sold for spare parts and the hardware division wound up.

It's a shame really as OS10 showed some promise but it's too little too late and look at the BBM for Android debacle, it was already well past it's best when they announced it and it's still not out now when nobody is now using it.

Ive been waiting patiently for the past few yrs for this so called collapse of Blackberry...it still hasnt happened

I've never owned a Blackberry, but I have used my parents' two Bold 9000s - they're one of the older models with a physical keyboard. I thought they were lovely devices with the joystick control, although I won't go for Blackberries now as it was 2012 when I was using the Bold 9000s and I've already been using Android for a few years at that point. I'm just too used to that OS now I think. I do hope that BB can get back up on its feet again though.

Had a BB Torch 9800 till start of this year, actually quite miss some of the things about it. Compared to the S3 I now have. Messaging, emailing was that little bit quicker to do? Battery lasted a lot longer as well for a start. The only thing letting down the BB was the app situation but if I`m honest there is only 1 or 2 apps that I do use that weren`t on BB. I suppose I was sucked into the Android way. Dunno if I would stick with Android again next time we shall see, would like to see windows get a better hold as the OS looks decent. Do we really want a two horse race till now and ever?

Well it took a big step to collapse last night.
Massive losses, share price destroyed and huge staff cuts, the company is only going one way from here.

Its a shame really but they only have themselves to blame for not moving fast enough and adopting a strategy which was always doomed to fail.

This is exactly it, i dont want to be tied into a choice between Android and Apple...both of those handsets do nothing for me and having used both of them, i just didnt get on with them. Thats not to say that they are rubbish, they arent but for my needs and wants..they dont suit me one single bit.

I have a feeling that Blackberry will probably be sold off and they will concentrate on the software side of things rather than the hardware. I wouldnt mind seeing Apple buy them out and let Blackberry develop the software whilst they churn out their beautifully built handsets. Personally i think it would be a match made in heaven imho but it wont happen i imagine.

You forget windows which is in solid third place and gaining marketshare, worldwide its still very low, but in certain countries it has significant user base, but unlike BB it is growing.

Would I get a z30, not a chance. Looks like they will be sold by the new year.
