Has anyone had any experiance with them

I bought a PSU off overclockers on the 5th August and the thing decides to die on me. Its outside the 28 days so I go through the RMA process with Corsair

Now they give you the option to pay $50 and get one sent before I ship mine off to them, which they will only take if I don't get the other one to them

Go to the post office today to ship it but because it has to go back to the netherlands they want £32 to post it.

Doesn't seem fair that a PSU just over a month old should cost me £32 to replace

Yes in short there useless!

I bought a 350d from here and both ODD covers were knackered. Overclockers themselves said its not down to them to sort (kinda cop out imo) so i got in touch with them. After a week of emails to and fro they said go ahead and send them and we'll send you some new ones -_- I then said it'd be better off for me to go out and buy somthing to fit in the 5.1/4 holes than to send them off to get new ones and they pretty much said fill your boots. To me a little mATX case for 90quid should be better made and i should'nt then be out of pocket when it arives dropping to bits.

Needless to say from now on i wont be using them

It's within 1 year so I thought OCUK must deal with it if you request them to, given that your contract of sale is with them.

I had a Corsair PSU die. I have had actually problems with 3 of them so I now use an Enermax. When the last one went bad I wanted a refund and it took about 2 months and eventually after an up front charge of $100, I got both the $100 holding fee refunded and the original purchase price back to me. For some reason they insisted on only being able to do this refund with a cheque written out to me. It was in dollars. So I had to go to my bank and fill out a form and send it off with "no guarantee it would work sir". I eventually got the majority of my money back. Complete hassle.

Yea i thought so too but they said no :(

Sounds like you've had a right chew on, there always happy enough to take your money but when it comes to sorting out an issue or getting a refund its never as easy lol

Well at the moment I have been sent the replacement, but i'm not going to open it as I really don't want to have to pay that much to post the other one back

They have a hold of $50 on my card but its my credit card so I could speak to the card company about not honoring it and telling corsair to come and collect the replacement.

Have sent a few emails will see what happens, lesson learned don't buy a Corsair PSU

I'd do that as its well within the resellers '1 year warranty', make them do the legwork!

I got my PSU replaced without paying a penny :p Just have to ask them to collect it otherwise you'll have to pay

Hang on a minute. What's this 28 day nonsense? Your contract is with the retailer for the first year (sometimes you can only go through the retailer with brands such as Asus for the whole warranty period) not the manufacturer. You should be RMA'ing to the place you got it plus you should not incur postal charges (usually refunded by the retailer after they have found it faulty). I would be contacting Citizens advice or Trading standards about the sloppy service.

What you have requested is an Express RMA, in which we send you the replacement first and once you have received it, you can then send back the faulty unit. This is an option that we offer to avoid down time with your system. That process will require an amount ($50) that will put on hold on your CC, then later release once the faulty unit is received.

Post your ticket # and I'll take care of your shipping fee to send it back to The Netherlands.
