Asus GTX670 2GB vs 4GB

THe 7950 is the better card but the 670 is not that much worse. Just get that 670 if thats what you want. As long as you have the 4gb version you'll be fine for Skyrim with mods.

Well this is an index of single stock card performance at 1440p, on recent drivers, taken with lots of recent games:

At highest settings in crossfire, the memory bandwidth gives the 7950 an extra advantage.

There aren't enough decent multi gpu reviews around unfortunately. I'd love to get my hands on a couple of 670's, clock them and compare them to my 7950x2 crossfire results at 1440p.

Yeah, it's pretty daft considering it's a completely affordable config. Would be interesting to see. In Skyrim especially as it scales well at 1440p.

Although selling your card due to high VRAM usage in Skyrim with mods is a bit of a leap. If you lap some mods over the top of ENB it can almost double the VRAM usage (unnecessarily). Definitely wouldn't be changing cards on that basis alone.

Skyrim was one game that really went over 2GB, although turning down AA without noticing much, if any difference in quality, reduced this number by quiet a bit. Still have the Fallout series to play which will be modded too :)

Also, main reason I sold the HD7950 is because I just want to try something new :)
And I like to get new shiny things in the post :p
Another one is that most of the games Im looking forward to play are Nvidia titles with BF4 being the exception.

Ill give myself till Tuesday night/Wednesday morning to decide but currently, still leaning towards the GTX670s, hopefully one of them go on Today Only before then. :D

Indeed. :p

Just sort of switched minds and want 2 HD7950s now :o
Just because of their prices and the games included.

Which would be better in crossfire, the IceQ or Twin Frozrs?

Ha.

IceQ is better in Crossfire because they blow out the back instead of into the case. There's a big thread on it too, with custom BIOSes and all.

670's are great cards, its just 7950's are slightly better. You can't go wrong with either, both are very good. If you like skyrim with mods, 7950's have a whole extra 1gb of vram which will come in handy.

That wasn't remotely related to the question :p

I kind of have a grey/black theme going on and would like to keep it that way, does anyone know how noticeable the blue PCBs are?

Also with the Gold ticket/Never Settle Forever road map it seems they are including top tier games such as BF4 etc.

Whats the best to do with the Gold tickets if that roadmap is true?

RE: SKyrim

Im not a big skyrim fan, im nearly finished it now and once im done the main quest, ill gie it few more hours for the DLC and side quests then move on. I dont see myself spending 100s of hours on it :p

Games I look forward playing are BF4/Splinter Cell/Batman/Metro LL/BL 2/ and whatever games I have left to play :p
As you can see, majority of those are big Nvidia titles hence my earlier decision, but now that I think of it is PhysX worth it over the performance difference?
