Is anyone finding games demanding on their gtx 680/7970's?

As above, is anyone finding their cards not being able cope with the current games available? In particular the newer title games?

I'm contemplating whether to ugprade before the end of the year but not sure. My current 680 is well out of warranty and its coming upto 2 years now...

What would you do? Anyone else thinking about upgrading or wait till next gen?

If i was you id stick another 680 in for SLI if i needed more performance.

I have no room for it :(.

im using an matx gene board and i have a sound card installed so theres no way i can fit another 680 in there. Would have to be another top end performance card.

Can't say my 7950 has struggled with anything and tbh I don't eve really need to run the overclock on it,I haven't played crysis 3 though but again that wouldn't be a average reading of what performance I've needed I would just wait and see tbh.

not sure if its relevant but my 6990 is starting to show its age :(
I watched my brother the other night play the new total war game on his 6950 and that struggled to keep up 30fps espcially in large scale battles. Granted he is using an aging 965 BE chip with an overclock to 4.2ghz.

I guess the real game im waiting for performance results to show is GTA 5, if and when it comes out... Can't imagine it would struggle unless it was coded like gta 4 was.

Does anyone think its worth sacrificing the sound card for another gtx 680? I have the psu for it (seasonic X850 fully modular) just need the space on my board.

You could wait until AMD show their hand in October with their new cards. Although unfortunately we are still on the 28nm process so gains wont be significant. It looks as though AMD will just release a card to compete with the 780/Titan and the rest of their cards will reshuffle to suit (a bit like Nvidia did with the 700 series). If i had a 680 i would either get another in sli while the prices are hot or just wait till 2014 and maxwell e.t.c

It's abit of a gamble really, because like most people on here i rely on the sale of my current card to upgrade to a newer one. From now till when maxwell comes out if my current card dies i will be without an upgrade path and be forced to get a cheaper card.

See my dilemna? :o
