Npower, Ripping me off ?

Looks like you've either got a faulty meter or you have genuinely used all that electric?

well this is what is on 24/7 or through the day:

Drinks fridge 24/7.
overserve counter: 24/7
Griddle: 7am to 2pm
camera system: 24/7
open led sign: 7am to 2pm
bain marie: 7am to 2pm
4 strip lights: 7am to 2pm
5 spot lights: 7am to 2pm

and maybe a few other little things.

so maybe its a faulty meter?

Also you are now paying double the standing charge on electric that you used to and about 30% more per KW. :(

It would make sense to me that you electricity usage has increased as business has increased and you are using more electric for heating food and coffees etc.
But as I don't know your individual circumstances it is difficult to gauge how much more you are using.

Someone hasn't instealled a "weed farm" upstairs and tapped your electricity supply have they :p

I would put money on the problem being the second reading on your BG bill. It must be wrong. You've hardly used anything in three months. That works out at about 800kw a year, just checked my house bill and that's over 4000kw a year.

The closing balance on the BG bill is wrong, you owe them more money, therefore the first reading on the npower bill is way wrong and making it look like you've used loads.

Funny thing is though, if the npower rates were cheaper, you're actually better off :D

I'm guessing you haven't given Npower your meter readings and those numbers int he Npower bill are based on an estimate reading. Go to your meter now and post back what the acutal number/numbers are

He's just read his meter at 15156 which means that he's used 5773 units since the 8th July.

151589 is what it is right now.

i missed a digit of the one further up the page^^^

On the Gas bill, 9383 is shown as "E" which presumably means estimated. It seems quite likely that the estimate was far too low meaning that when an actual reading was taken subsequently (14516) it simply makes it look as though you usage has been enormous.

The other thing to account for was the bill for the first couple of months when you were still moving in and setting the place up, or was it a business that was already setup that you took on ?

This seems to be the likely explanation. It was estimated.

I would agree with this, 800kw for 3 months running the gear listed above is defo too low.
And the first ready type is A, which would mean Actual ? perhaps

The more I look the more confident I am this is correct.
