Any other single people live off microwave meals?

M&S ready meals are pretty good to be fair!

That is all my last housemate used to eat as he thought because it was M&S and like £5 a pack it was pretty much gourmet, they always smelt awful to me.

He even thought he ate better than me, because my girlfriend would buy the fresh ingredients for our meal from Aldi or equivalent cheap but perfectly fine supermarket :p

If I am home alone I usually have soup, a quick stir fry or frozen left-overs.

Live the single life 7 to 8 months away whilst the g/f works abroad. Never have microwave meals. I cook large quantities and freeze down the remainder. Things like Fajitas only take 20mins or so to knock up, it doesn't take much effort.

Tonight was two salmon steaks, loads of broccoli and a little rice and some nice strong Maille Dijon mustard on the side. Again took all of 20mins and the prep was literally wrapping the salmon in foil to put it in the oven.

get a rice cooker - can do a whole load of quick healthy meals in it and rice of course

microwave meals are for chavs on benefits who really ought to have more time than anyone else to cook properly yet generally still end up eating rubbish and becoming obese

Microwave meals... No thanks, unless they're healthier ones with low calories, low fat, low salt and low sugar content etc.

I very rarely cook, I make salads most of the time so I guess that's not really cooking.

I have ready meals occasionally when my schedule means I'm short on time but I tend to cook fresh. I mean I can knock up a quick decent meal in 15mins. I've managed a meal for 4 in 30mins so it's not hard.

No matter if I'm poor or single been single for 7 years I'd never eat crap... I spend about 90 quid a week on food and never waste any...

I do enjoy cooking tho my old man was awesome in the kitchen and taught me well :)

Low fat? Are you one of the people who think fat makes you fat?

If something says low fat (not JUST low fat, but low calories/salt/sugar as well), would you not say it is healthier than something that is full fat? No, I'm not one of those people who pick up items from the supermarket that only say 'low fat', I make sure I look for low calorie/sugar/salt content as well.

Microwave meals obviously aren't as good a proper cooked meal but they'll still provide sufficient nourishment. Supplementing with fresh veg helps.

There's an error in the matrix it seems.

Personally, I make meals in 3 or 4 portions and freeze them, rather than frozen ready meals.

This

Microwave meals are high in fat, taste like cardboard and will put you in an early grave if eaten on a regular basis.
