Custom air cooled Titan??

Depends how much of a difference in temps this cooler would make compared to the stock 780 cooler.

It would be much better than the stock. The inno3d ichill is an amazing cooler. Had their 660ti version before, 47 degrees full load and fan never want off minimum speed. I think someone from ocuk posted yesterday that it keeps the titan at 60 degrees.

Clearly it would be better than the stock 780 cooler. By how much is what i'm interested in. I've got a 780 Superclock fitted with a water block on it's way, but still undecided whether i'll be running it water cooled or on air, so just weighing up some alternative options.

Much better ;) From vortez

We're confident that the iChill cooler is the best GPU cooling solution this side of watercooling - it really is that good.

Watercooling would obviously be better still but is a lot more expensive and there's always an increased risk.

I like water cooling as it removes all GPU heat from the case and allows the rest of the system to run cooler.

On my other systems where I have just water cooled the CPU I find the heat from the graphics cards going through the rad limits the cooling on the CPU.

I'd agree, custom coolers provide a marginal benefit but if you want proper cooling and reduced noise and case heat, go water. Be warned though, once you watercool, it will be hard for you to return to aircooled systems.

Just how silent can water cooling be ?
I am so sensitive to whine's and buzz, I just can not see the pumps being quiet enough for me.

My 780 and cpu water cooled is much quieter than my other 780 air cooled reference cooler.

Temps 780 with water block idle 26c load 47c
Temps with reference air cooler idle 36c load 80c

So we know that EVGA and Inno3D make aftermarket coolers you can buy separately....

Any one know of any others? For example do Galaxy make those windforce coolers that they include in that Titan package separately for you to buy??
