Last month my wife and I went on a 3 week group trip in South America starting in Argentina then onto Chile, Bolivia and Peru over the Andes. It was mainly a road trip in coaches, mini buses and 4x4s taking in incredible scenery at high altitude (2700m to just over 5000m)

For the route we started in Buenos Aries then we flew to Salta, day tripped to Cafayate, drove over the high pass to Chile - San Pedro de Atacama, crossed over to Bolivia - Villa Mar, Bella Vista, Uyuni, La Paz, crossed the border to Peru - Puno, Cusco, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Callientes (Macchu Picchu), Cusco and Lima.

Throughout the whole trip the people were all really friendly even in Argentina and didn't feel unsafe at all.

Did you get any night shots, i bet the sky at night was amazing :)

A couple in the group went out to see the stars as there was an astronomy trip although I didn't as I was suffering from the altitude for a bit. We drove past the check point for the large ALMA (radio telescope) array in the Atacama desert but its not open for visitors yet unfortunately.

Absolutly amazing.
How did you book it all up, sort cars etc out.

Dont suppose you have roough gps map.

It was a group tour arranged by a company called Journey Latin America. They were fantastic, everything ran like clock work considering how busy the itinerary was. Unfortunately no GPS data as for some reason I couldn't get it working without data being turned on, as I wanted to track the altitude of the trip.

I tried to track the trip in google maps but unfortunately a lot of the roads in Bolivia are not on maps and are dirt tracks although they are main roads as you see lorries thundering down them.
