Right I'm sick and tired of browsing this forum on my phone and when a few gif files appear on a page it becomes unresponsive and unusable.

What do others do about this? Is there a way to stop them loading? It really has ****ed me off.

Thread in question was the football weekend thread. A few gifs and it's dead.

I'm on a Galaxy nexus with android 4.2. Piece of ****.

I await a flood of the ****ing things making this thread useless.

And yes bro, I'm mad.

Most mobile devices will struggle with loads of high res. GIFs with large amounts of frames. They're inefficient and costly to render. Some browsers deal with them better but it's marginal. You only option is to avoid said threads.
