Just wondering what are normal temps for a 4770k (not oc'd atm)

mine hovers around 30-34 idle spikes up a bit randomly for a second or two according to HWmonitor with some cores being much lower some dropping as far as 25 whilst others remain at 34ish.

When running prime95 doing a CPU stress it never goes above 62.

Is this normal? I am using an Akasa Venom CPU cooler as I am waiting for a new cooler.

Don't want to risk OCing it at the moment as my sandy idles at around 35-38 but is OC'd to 4.6.

Haswell runs hotter than Sandybridge , your temps are normal and you should hit 4ghz without any voltage tweaks.

Set the multiplier to 40 and you should be fine.

Mine is around 28/30c idle and get's to the mid 60s during Crysis 3. It's at 4.2Ghz with 1.2v. Cooler is a K2. I've not bothered to stress test using Prime 95 just use the system and see if it crashes, which it hasn't.

Finally some one making sense. Please don't use prime 95 as there is no reason for it. Just use your pc like you normally would and the is your own personal stability test and if it crashes then mess around with the settings again.

I don't use prime 95 because my CPU at stock my temps go into the unsafe region. But if i just use if to play games i.e. My own stress test i can clock it a lot higher and my temps are fine but it would need the fire service if i ran prime on it now.

Mine is running at 4.4ghz atm and it sits around 28-30 idle and highest I've seen is 42 whilst gaming after several hours.

I am however currently on water including 2 x 780gtx and the mosfet on the board on the same loop.
