There was one scene in particular where Lamar said '*****' at the end of pretty much every sentence. They were arguing, and maybe that's how people like him actually speak, but it was a bit over the top. It wasn't that I was offended, far from it, that would be pathetic, it was just really annoying.

If you choose the deathwish option you get to save all three of the main characters. If you choose to kill either Michael or Trevor then you cannot play their side missions after the game ends, pretty sure that includes rampages if you kill Trevor too. Also, there are a handful of properties which can only be bought by a specific character, for example the taxi company can only be bought by Franklin etc.

Glad it isn't just me being annoyed by this. I find myself avoiding Franklin missions and just using the other characters so I can avoid all that crap.

Yeah rape and ****ing men off is hilarious right? Black people call each other the n word it isn't at all racist in that context, plus it adds realism as that's what people from those areas speak to one another like.

I don't think people are saying it's racist, he could be saying anything, it's just overused so much that it becomes annoying, that's all. There's one scene, like I said, that was ridiculous.
 
I found tomb raider a bit did she just say that, even made a post about language in games, but with gta i kind of expected it.

Still dont like it though :)

I just find it too much. Even with the kids asleep I feel I have to turn it right down and shut the windows so it cannot be heard outside. My wife hates it and says its just immature and unfunny. I hate wearing headphones so just play with subtitles and turn it down.

The game itself is great but I get the feeling Rockstar tried to make it as offensive as possible and from my point of view it just comes across a bit to ott.

I think you're missing the point, nobody has said it's racist seeing as it isn't, that's the way they talk to each other, it's just annoying that it's every other word. I don't think anyone here has a moral problem with it at all and if they did then they've bought the wrong game.
 
There are far worse things in this game and most of them revolve around Trevor. So it's quite odd seeing people being so annoyed/offended/whatever concerning Franklin/Lamar.

Especially the entire mission with him in, doing various things, that is more than OTT.
 
Just completed the first jewelry heist mission. Do the missions improve much?
Even only after playing it for 5 hours or so, I'm not that fussed about picking it back up?
 
I haven't found any of it annoying, even the scene you're referring to I found it funny rather than anything, way better than the boring robotic dialogue you get in most games. The characters in this feel real and if it involves them overusing a word to do so then so be it.
