********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

This is interesting from a hands-on that CVG had-

Off the west coast of Los Santos, there is an another island with lots of buildings. This has not been seen before, but the folks at CVG saw it from afar

Online is going to be incredible, but I just don't know whether I will play it from when it is released...I will get the PC version when it comes out, so don't want to start a character that I will have to abandon.

Hell no, mind you I have a bad habit of falling driving down mountains at high speeds.

It's quite easy to buckle a tyre so you can't drive effectively.

Also don't drive through fire.

You're not trying hard enough, I've killed plenty of cars. The wheels bend in or the body work catches and they stop turning or going at any speed. Any less durable and you would constantly be jumping between cars.

I've managed to find something I don't like!!!!

Anyone else find the cars are just too durable?
Long hectic chases are obviously one of the most fun elements of the game, but they could be more exciting if you had to keep your car alive.
Apart from stacking it into water I can't kill cars!!

I have yet to make one blow up, but have had the steering break, so both wheels face the opposite way, kinda made it impossible to drive... :)

It's likely you'd make your car undriveable in real life before it would actually blow up. Couple of fast crashes on this and your steering/tyres become useless. Seems fine from my point of view, I've had a police heli blow my car up shooting it though.

Not at all, I've managed to snap my steering on plenty of occasions driving over rough terrain. Pad was rumbling away, and wondered what I'd done, pan the camera round and notice the wheel isn't turning.

Really? I managed to dent the front end so much that it pushed it all the way back to the wheels, bonnet off and unable to steer or accelerate. So much you can't tell what car i was driving lol

You can tell the car is shafted when the controller rumbles. Easiest way to break it is to hit it at speed on the corner.

That said, a porsche is more durable than a Audi R8, must be because the engine in the Porsche is at the back?

The R8 has the engine at the back too :p

Must be Porsche's renowned chassis balance :)

Going to be weird if they don't bring GTA5 to the new consoles, and the online mode is as successful as they hope. People having to keep their 360/PS3 just for GTA5

I personally think they will end up bringing GTA Online to next gen, but as a stand alone.

I reckon they already have a better looking version of GTA V and it will be released on the new consoles and pc. Why not its more income, there will be a lot of people that will buy it again. I know i will get it on PC.

I'll definitely purchase it again, if it came out on next gen first I'd buy it for better graphics/frame rate then would buy again on PC for mods and even better graphics/framerate. Rockstar deserve the money.
