Hey guys,

I have a really simple question, I want to create a blogging site, just to keep a journal of my trips and stuff, is it best to host with wordpress so I get a cack url like playboy.wordpress.com. I imagine this will be easier to maintain.

Or, shall I host my self (find another company to host), get a decent url, playboy.com and then setup wordpress on it after?

£20 would get you a year on TSO with a proper domain, on which you can then install wordpress. It works together very simply, and gives you the flexibility of your own we space.
 
Why not just start with Wordpress and see how you get on. You may find you can't be bothered to maintain it, or vice versa.

You can always move to a host at a later date.
 
You can buy your own web address, host then add the WordPress plugin so essentially its a WordPress blog site but with your own site name. Its what I use.

This sounds like the best solution...

Now to decide on a witty domain name...
 
TSOHost Cpanel offers a wealth of option s and full wordpress support. Then simply install a WP theme based on what you're after and start customising and blogging.
 
Always like to help out a fellow biker, if you want I can set you up with some free hosting if you supply the domain name. Can even install WordPress on it if you like.

It's mainly something to entertain me haha, just fancy talking bs on a site without annoying others, can't do that on a forum :P

No real motivation behind it, just seems to be the 'hip' thing to do and figured I might as well jump on the bandwagon. Not exactly bank busting figures to get up and running.
