Can we have a poll on this?

Yes I have
No I have not but I would given the opportunity
No I have not

Please only vote if you are married or have been in a very long term relationship.

Many of the successful business men and executives I have met are doing the dirty on their partners. I think maybe its less common in the working class community but I could be wrong.

I am honestly surprised how common it is.

Well one doesn't usually get high-up in business with an abundance of morals. It's not really surprising.

I haven't, but my experiences are like yours in that many of the business men I've met that travel a lot are quite casual about explaining their encounters whilst they are away. Some of this could be put down to bravado, but I guess there is some truth in there somewhere.

You can't go any further with this without asking the question-

How many women have you slept with that have been married, or going out with someone?

Most of your non OCUK mates would admit to at least one of the the lasses they have nailed being taken, but suggest that one of their girls have probably had some behind their back and you will get a chorus of denials.

As for it being less common among the lower classes, have you never seen Jeremy Kyle.

So true atpbx, so true. It's for this very reason that I treat all women as snakes with breasts until they prove otherwise. Sad and jaded perhaps but better safe than sorry!

No I haven't.

I wouldn't ever do it... Well unless Olivia Wilde asks, I've already told my Missus to get the divorce papers ready in that instance :p

whats the point in marriage if you don't love her enough to not cheat

I think the point is most men want to have a loving family to go home to but they also want to have some fun with someone a little different. I think they still love their wives.

No I haven't..I was stalked once and it all got a bit embarrassing, but I just wouldn't cheat on my wife. If I wanted to fool around I would get single first.

Like I said I could be wrong.

I was just shocked at at how common it is with more successful men.

Meh? People are people, more wealth success or social standing doesn't negate people nobbling people that they shouldn't be nobbling.

If anything, the more successful you are the higher the chances of being seen as attractive. Maybe you could argue that you could experience less exposure to people if it's to the extreme, but again would all depend on the individual, circumstances and chance etc.

If it means anything I'm pretty certain my ultra-conservative investment banker uncle had it off with one of his secretaries. And you really wouldn't get that impression at lunch, or golf or whatever. Typical intellectual prude.

Sexual monogamy is very rare in the natural world. A lot of animals, like Swans, which were once thought to mirror human behaviour of choosing a partner for life have actually since been found to be sexually promiscuous. So whilst it's normal for them to live socially with one partner is also rare that all their offspring are shared between the two.

For example, whilst 90% of birds (the animal, not slang for women) are socially monogamous; less than 10% are sexually monogamous and it's common to find a nest full of chicks with different fathers.

That would be my excuse for cheating anyway.
