Motherboard sounds

I have a z68 Fatal1ty and have z906 surround sound system.

I want to have my surround sound next to my tv and my PC at the other end of the room.

Can I use a 5m optical cable to get 5.1 surround and expect same quality sound from the optical cable like I do with the 3 3.5mm cables.

As in, do the two separate audio connections use the same quality hardware and decoders..?

So comparing sata ports, some are intel and some are third party. It is the same with optical and the 3.5mm ports?

Yes, I love it. A worth while upgrade from a 660, but the Matrix & DC II are both incredible cards at amazingly low prices.

Cool, I have the lightning version non-boost, so this should compliment it nicely.
