Well he's like "This PCB is supperior" I ask him why, and he only says theres no point in telling me because i will put it down lol. Worst excuse EU 2013.

IF there are real benefits from having an ASUS 7970 DC2 or Matrix then please tell me because the benefits would be objective and i would have to agree.

more efficient and quieter cooler. Price. EVERY REVIEW vs you. and you expect people to listen to you... it's not so much advice you are giving, trying to bad mouth Asus for no reason at all. you have no proof that the problems you had were cause by poor pcb or whatever so you make up something and call other people stupid...

Hey 'Rangerjr1', seeing as you certainly won't be using that 7970 Platinum again, lol (nice ornament by the way) I wondered if I could possibly have the triple slot mounting bracket for it?

Asus cards are so well made, they can be used even after they are bent. all he needs is a hammer and a hair straighter and cards good to go.

ive already bought the Matrix anyway but only because it was very cheap (£260 delivered) but if i was buying a 7970 when they came out, i would have bought the DCII because i did change the cooler on my ref gtx 480 and it was a pain in the arse and not something i would want to do again.

also atm, i havent found any ref cards, ge ones, below £300 which would make the matrix a steal. cause even if i run it at 1111mhz it's still cheaper and quieter than the ref cards.

I also got Crysis 3, Bioshock infiniti and the voucher u get for 3 free games. honestly i think it's the deal of the century.

No, he says its not good because if your chip isnt cherrypicked then yea. You wasted money on a glorified Tahiti card that wont overclock any more than any other card. And that ONLY because its not cherry picked. At a high price yes.

Complete waste of money.

You can look at the leds it has though :o :o

like i said, i wouldnt get it if it was more expensive than other cards. but now that it's cheap/cheaper it makes sense.

not to mention the ~£150 worth of games that i got. (crysis 3 and bioshock inf were free on the matrix only. gold coupon was included as well)

again I agree that it's not worth paying a premium over ref cards or cheaper cards but at £260 it would be, in my opinion, stupid to get the ref cards
 
No reason to buy old cards especially matrix. You should get a used card + waterblock or to wait for the new gen. I hate asus this generation except if you have RIVE

well for my budget this is perfect. the new announced gpus by AMD, 2 of which i would be interested in, the R9 280X is just rebadged 7970 and is the same price and the R9 290X is out of my league as it's going to be priced similar to 780gtx i would have thought.

again, i dont get the asus hate. DCU2s have a really good rep and oc wise they should be the same as any other OEM

Guess who's getting a REFERENCE R9 290x?
 
DCU2s first is a 3 slot cooler. Second the first batch was full of problems. DVI problems etc etc. I think they fixed it with the second rev. Some also are voltage locked.

I dont get that thing with the custom cards. Most of them are marketing gimmick and use lower quality components than the ref one. Actually do you believe that military component from msi? You shouldnt.

280x will have a better pcb and probably better cooler than this card. Just look the new xfx cooler. My advice is to avoid asus this gen they were good but they messed hard this gen.Also you can look for a 290 with a price close to 399

Is this correct? So you get the Gold Coupon because it's a 79## series card and then because it's the Matrix Platinum version you get Crysis 3 AND Bioshock Infinite AS WELL :eek: Where's my credit card :p
