Questions on Cleaning a PC.

I have, just be careful where you are sticking it.

Personally I use a small air bed pump to blow off the dust and a fine paint brush to get into those hard to reach places.

Vacuum cleaner can potentially generate static electricity. It's should be safe for cleaning vents in the case etc, would keep it away from circuit boards.

Best option is compressed air, usually an air duster can. The hardware guys at work use a small compressor.

No for vacuum and yes for a decent can of compressed air. Just spray it a few times before use to get.any water out and spray the dust away.

No to vacuum and no to a hair dryer!! Fit some decent air filters or cut up some tights (seriously, it works) and then when you need to clean use a 1/2" brush and a can of compressed air. Best to do it outside too.

am i the only one to throw caution to the wind? iv used the vac on all my builds, boards, graphic cards.. not killed a single thing

I always know when to clean my PC, the fan on my GPU starts to sound slightly louder and differently with a slight vibration.

I have a close relationship with my PC...it talks to me :D

I think it just loves to have it's innards tickled with the soft brushes I use to get the dust out of all those hard to reach spots.

I go for the paint brush approach with and hold a vacuum hose near where im dusting so it sucks the dust out of the air instead of just moving it about. Then just work from top to bottom

Well that escalated quickly.

To be fair I think the paint brush and compressed air is the mostly commonly used method, it's safe and effective.

Though I'll be honest I've often used the brush attachment on my Dyson and have had no problems.

I've used a 1" paint brush & a hoover attachment for Donkeys years, I survive & so does my PC.
