HD 7950 or a GTX 670?

Don't buy a 2GB VARM card now, for god's sake.

And you recommend that even when the OP isn't going multi-GPU?

There's no chance a single 2GB card is pushing acceptable frame rates in games where the settings would cause 2GB to be exceeded. And that's even on the assumption that 2GB will be exceeded at 1080p which isn't certain yet.

Yes.

Buying 2GB now when 3GB is out there for the same price OR LESS is just stupid.

Who wants 'acceptable'?

2GB is already exceeded @ 1080p, in some cases, and later games inc BF4 are going to increasing VRAM.

I'm on holiday in Florida :). , But I just have to say 'get a 7950 over a 670 right now as there is "NO" difference in actual fps between the 2 cards but the extra 1 Gb memory might help some future games. Boy the sun has got to me :)

Everything ive been playing so far minimum of 40 fps with all the bells and whistles (Planetside 2,Rome 2,Sleeping dogs,Tomb raider) @1080p so no complaints :)

I can't wait to go through the tomb raider campaign again, seeing as tomb raider maxed out has 40fps minimum, disabling everything to do with shadows and lowering/disabling msaa should do the trick to attain a solid 60 fps.

Hello,

does anyone here have a PowerColor HD 7950 (V2) 3GB GDDR5?? How it is?

Greetings,
Fr4nc

If you look for PowerColor you have to look for the PCS+ model.

Many have clocked it to 1220/1600 at pretty low voltage also. (around 1.225v)
And the cooler is quiet.

Powercolour made some decent cards but while I have not been too keen on them as a brand, I had the longest running gfx (and abused) from them.
It was a ATI 9500 non pro, mod chipped to 9700 pro and heavily overclocked to death that lasted from 2002 to 2007 when I got the NV8800.
And is somewhere upstairs to be honest, in working condition still.
