Can I setup OC V12 kit without backplate?

Hi guys,

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I'm fairly new to this stuff. I've lost my CPU backplate and I'm just wondering if I need a new one to be able to setup the Overclockers V12 watercooling kit. If so, does anyone know where I can get a new backplate for my AM3 motherboard? I contacted overclockers and they said they'd have a look into it but they didn't get back to me and I've contacted AMD but they also haven't said anything yet. I really want to setup my watercooling asap so any help would be appreciated!

The XSPC raystorm amd waterblock.

try ebay mate.

Worst that happens is you buy a cheap or dead am3 motherboard

maybe this might do the job? if not send it back under the 14day dsr

The backplate came but doesn't have anything like screw threads to match the XSPC Raystorm's screw kit, I went to maplins to see if I could find anything that would work, all I was able to get were some nuts, washers and long screws, sorry if this is a silly question but I'm useless with stuff like this, can I use metal screws with plastic washers and metal nuts to mount my XSPC Raystorm CPU waterblock onto the backplate?
