ASUS ASUS AMD Radeon R9 290X hawaii computer game graphics core with Battlefield 4

So do you think card be £549 here? Same has 780 If so way to high

Yes, Even Gibbo on these forums has pretty much said it will be priced the same as the 780 ( so ~£500).

Everything so far is pointing to it being that price.

4999 yuan is £506, and they have ~ 17% VAT.

So £432 plus 20% VAT here ~£520, in excess to margins etc i would say £560-£600.

Totally disappointing if it is, they should undercut the GTX 780, people will still buy them, but they would sell a hell of a lot more if it was around £450 even if it's slightly faster.

I read their is only 8,000 worldwide? Not sure if this is the ones with BF4, or as a whole on release? (Noticed it in another thread now)

Yeah at £450 I would be seriously tempted to buy one but as it is just can't justify much more than that so am looking at the 280x.

£550 seems to be about what most are expecting though you never know it may be less.

As I said the other day, what happens now with all the people who ****ged of Nvidia because AMD are better price performance? If the new top end is same price as the 780 then thats over priced as well is it not? By the logic of some of the Nvida haters they cant buy the 290x can they?

Earlier this week we told you that AMD would be releasing a limited edition Radeon R9 290X Battlefield 4 video card. AMD Corporate Vice President of the Graphics Business Unit, Matt Skynner, said that limited quantities of the Radeon R9 290X Battlefield 4 Edition card will be available for pre-order only, starting October 3 with select partners.

What we have learned since bringing you that news is that AMD will be releasing a grand total of 8,000 AMD Radeon R9 290X Battlefield 4 Edition cards. This means globally and not just regionally!
We also learned that the cards specifications and the final price of the card will not be disclosed when the pre-order begins. This means that you’ll have to put down a deposit without knowing the price or clock speeds of the card that you will be purchasing. This is a very interesting and something we’ve never seen done before in recent times. To top that off only certain Add-In board partners will be offering it.
