I see you've spent enough already this month.
Sold the old mobo and CPU on fleaBay so £200 to upgrade wasn't too bad.
I wouldn't sell mine as my other comp needs upgrading. I would pass the mobo and cpu into that comp and buy new, hence I can't justify buying a new CPU and MOBO. I don't feel the bottleneck is enough to warrant it either.

Overclock you're 2500k..
I would expect the CPU to be being more used than that.. Unless Amra 3 only really uses 2 cores..
I had a 2500K and 2700K both at 4.6Ghz and noticed no difference in any games at 1440p with a number of different GPU combinations. Neither a 690 or 670 Sli made any noticeable in game difference. The only way to see a minimal difference was benchmarking.
