last regret/satisfied game purchases

Grid 2...could have, should have been much better.
Shogun 2 Gold...awesome game and only 16 quid.

Haven't bought a full price game since forever. I really cannot remember buying a £25+ game. Steam sales and Humble Bundles lately, spent loads in small transactions. Helps that I bought 6 AMD 7 series cards for work related builds, and one for myself too.

Fun factor mention has to be Jet Set Radio, got it for £6 on Steam (had it on DC moons ago), it's just such a happy game.

Most new games just don't do it for me :/

Which was the last game that you regret buying?

I don't regret many purchases but I'd have to say Flatout 3. Truly abysmal.

Which was the last game you were suprised/content with?

Surprised? Probably Singularity, I got it cheap in a sale but didn't play it for a couple of years. Was enjoyable and had fairly high production values.

Content? Tomb Raider, I guess. Was a bit skeptical as I don't particuarly like the earlier games in the series that I've played, but the new one is much more forgiving and story-driven. It seems they've learnt a lot from Assassin's Creed.

Are you excited about pc gaming? or do you long for years gone by when games were games and patchs were optional rather than a huge ass patch more often than not being in the hundreds of megabytes

Yes I'm excited about PC gaming and patches being optional was in all but very few cases irrelevant to me, as I have always patched my games to the latest version unless there is a compelling reason not to. It never failed to astound me when you'd get people posting on the forums about problems with a game and then it would transpire they hadn't even bothered to patch it

^ I did take exception to BF3 requiring a multi-gigabyte patch for DLC I don't own (and have no intention to buy) just so I can play a couple of rounds. I like to hop on and play for a little while when I fancy, not when EA/DiCE say it's ok...

Regretted buying Takedown Red Sabre which a buggy peace of crap which prevented you from joining a mp game. Two patches later and I still cant join.

I enjoyed Stare of Decay which is in beta release at the moment it has its issues and gets repetitive but I did manage to complete the game which I enjoyed hopefully the full release will address the problems I came across.

best - tomb raider (thought it would be naff) and bioshock infinite when i finally got round to playing it like 5 months after i bought it couldnt get into it at first but when i went back through on eyefinity its a very nice looking game with a decent storyline, ending isnt great.

Worst - nothing springs to mind except the 10s of steam games i have bought on sale and played like an hour? thought i never normally pay over a tenner for those, so its no biggie.

Last regret has to be Rome 2.
I rarely ever, ever ever buy games on anywhere near launch, let alone pre-order them, and this is exactly why.

I think pretty much the last game I bought on launch was DOW II, and I was very satisfied with that.

Regret.. possibly Tomb Raider, I finished it but didn't enjoy it too much till near the end. Found the stealth mechanics fun but otherwise the shooting felt too light and not satisfying enough to me. Not a bad game per se, was just expecting more.

Surprised.. Dark Souls. It had some great reviews but I wasn't convinced I would love it when I bought it.. I was very wrong

Regret: Assassin's Creed 3... Just the same and the same and the same....
Satisfied: Tomb Raider. Game of the Year for me!

Regret: Rome II
Satisfied: Hitman or Tomb Raider - enjoyed both thoroughly, Hitman stressed me out so much though!

Regret: TW:Rome II - I can honestly say that this is the only game I have regretted buying in at least the last 5 years. That'll teach me for pre-ordering!

Satisfied: Torchlight 2 - I'd never played an action RPG before buying this at release on a whim. I absolutely love the game and can't believe the price vs. content ratio compared to recent so-called AAA games.

Regrets: Payday 2 and Rome II. Payday 2 wasn't better than Payday 1 and that sort of thing should never be allowed!

Best: I'm going back and having some great fun with games like Defcon, Zombie panic Source. Also playing americas army which is ok for free.

GTA V was of course above my expectations, one of the greatest games I have ever played, roll on PC announcement!

The last game I regret buying was Sniper Elite V2, played 5 mins and got bored!

everyone keeps banging on about euro truck sim and I always think they are joking is it really good?

yea man.

It seems like such a crap and boring game but honestly I love it, so relaxing playing it, turn on the internet radio stations or your own music and blast down the highway. Its really satisfying. Try the demo on steam

well GOTY for me, by a landslide over everything else - Marvel Heroes 9/10

'FF XIV' and 'Takedown:something something' are joint worst 1/10

Regret - RAGE once I got it working it still turned out to be a bit pants
Satisfied - Tropico 4 complete punt purchase in the steam summer sale and its proper good fun
