I'd say go for the Sony if your happy with the screen quality. It'll feel more premium than the Note too. And the Note is indeed a big phone.

Get it online so you can return it under DSR if need be.

I'm happy with the Sony to be honest. I will be getting it online from my network provider plus it's the same monthly cost so I find it to be a win win.

If I don't like it I'll just give it to the other half who seems to love android phones. As I'm stuck in the Apple ecosystem it's pretty difficult for me to get out, but I think the iP5s made it clear for me that my 4s is still a very decent phone.

I'll decide tomorrow, after I watch more reviews on youtube. ;)
 
And remember, its Android. So if you don't like somthing software wise like the dialer or sms app, desktop (launcher) or whatever, there's loads of replacement apps on the Playstore.
 
Yeah I understand that. No even the stock UI for me seems much nicer from the Sony device. The Settings page looks iOs-esq like. If I can find a decent enough browser I'll be happy.

Thank Kona. Does the note 3 take this sort of SD Card too?

I'm still in two minds, the notes 3 usb 3 compatibility and 4k recording is tempting. Oh and the changeable battery. I'm really unsure, I'm not too keen on the Sony's glass back.

thb note 3 is an epic phone if you're ok with the size :) for me it would simply be too big.. Z1 is max I could comfortably take in my pockets.. :)
 
That's the thing, the size is rather large. I might just take a gamble and settle with the Z1, but I really need another go with one to finally make my mind up.
 
Lol vita you are in a predicament aren't you? You can't decide for the life of you..

I personally would say wait for the nexus 5.. But I'm pro nexus so I would say that ... As you say you need expandable storage though...
 
There is apparantly 3 different screen suppliers for the Z1

DI is an AH-IPS panel (best quality, colours, contrast, viewing angles, everything is amazing, same as Z Ultra)

AUO is an MVA panel (second best, awesome colours, slightly worse viewing angles, but still v. good)

Sharp are a mix of eIPS (3rd best, acceptable viewing angles, good colours good contrast) and VA (worse, similar to Z/ZL, poor viewing angles, poor contrast, acceptable colour rendition).

I read up on this, it's a shame that it has 3 different screen suppliers. It's luck really, you might end up with a duff screen.

I had a go with the note 3, really like that a lot. Though I would love the ips screen on the Z1. How do you find out what screen it has??
 
You need to be rooted and install an app is what I've read. But you'll be able to tell from looking it at it if it's a bad'un.

I see. Kona, I'm in a predicment, I can't make my mind up between the Z1/Note 3. I like that the note 3 has less bezel, but the Z1 has a decent screen size which isn't overly large. So unsure. AAHRHRHGHG.
 
I'd go Note 3 because I love OLED screens. If it's just size your worried about then I'm sure you'l get used to the extra dimensions in no time.

Screen looked great plus usb3/4k recording is a nice bonus. Not really bothered about the spen but at least I can watch movies properly.

Yes, it felt very premium. I couldn't get it t make a squeak at all. It actually felt light for such a big phone. Plus I preferred holding it in the hand then the Z1, Z1 felt a little too rigid/angled if you get where I'm coming from.

I'm currently on the phone to my network provider to see how soon I can get it. It states next week on their website but I can't wait that long.
