Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Had a very quick try with my i7 920@4Ghz and 2 x 7970s xfire at 2560x1440. Ran really smoothly maxing both GPUs which is refreshing as BF3 never seemed to cope with Xfire well. I thought it played nicely for the 5 mins I tried it. Felt a little less twitch based frantic run and gun and a bit slower which for me felt nice, slightly less 15 year old ninja twitch reflexes required.

Not sure it is a massive generational step forward in graphics although the added detail looked nice. More BF3.5 than 4 in that respect although the return of commander mode and some of the other changes probably push it up to BF4. Graphics isn't everything.

So far on the whole 5 mins I played it's a firm 7 or 8 out of 10 from me.

gerad it does look worse ! i haven't got a hard on for cod i like cod 4 this has great reg ! thats one of my biggest gripes previously but the game is MOH2013 not bf. you can agree or not agree but its moh with vehicles.

anyone whos played moh recent ones will understand this .

one thing this maybe a good game for is tdm with how good the reg is.

I'm dying to play this, but unfortunately I'm still awaiting PC parts to be delivered. But reading all the various threads about BF4, has really got me itching to play. I've recently made the switch from PS3 to PC, and haven't really played a FPS on PC for years, (although I've started Borderalnds 2 in the last couple of days) and I'm WELL out of practice :rolleyes:

Keep the reviews of the beta coming guys, I'm loving reading about it :D

Yes I have played it I'm just out of a game where I took down the skyscraper for the first time. Graphically it looks fine, I don't know what people expect on a city map but there's obviously not going to be the greenery of Caspian border so obviously the colour palette is limited in that respect.
 
They did say they wouldnt include full textures did they not. If anything I'm betting the actual game will run slighty slower than the beta if this is the case. BF3 certainly ran the same as the beta did, as said already its for server load, theres not much they can change at this point.

reg is pure moh not bf. game plays like moh its just its set in a bf setting. the actual gameplay is more moh than bf. probably why moh has dropped now because they combined the two games.

game will be fun but its more on the console side than bf3 is . graphics are okay but not amazing but... you can tell that not all the textures and stuff have been added .

so its moh 2013. just with tanks and helis.

yep, agreed so far with a massive 15mins played :) To be fair it's quite a compact city map so it's not on the scale of the likes of Caspian, more like BF3 Seine Crossing
 
OMG I want to get home and try this. Can't play until 9pm though.

Work -> Home -> Eat -> BJJ Training -> Home -> Shower -> BF4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I was using Afterburner's OSD in BF3 to see FPS, temps etc. Because BF4 is x64 it isn't working. Any working alternatives?
 
Seems perfect to me, no problems at all apart from borderless not working, movement seems a lot better compared to BF3 too.

I had a round and a half this morning before work and it went from full screen to a window never gave it much thought as I was running an hour late for work.
 
Lol at people judging graphics and performance on a beta :D Not remember bf3 beta? :p

Doesn't sound like I am missing too much on the first day, as expected :p
