Guys,

After some opinions here, do you sit on a sofa with your partner or armchairs?

I am curious as me and my Fiancée are finally getting to the point on our property that we can start to furnish it (Major Refurb) so this will be the first time living together on our own, currently we live with my parents. So currently we always sit on a sofa together.

Now we are looking at living room furniture and was thinking about going for sofas with a arm chair etc etc and I got quite an evil stare and a very quiet day as I mentioned getting a Arm Chair to sit in lol.:eek:

What does everyone else do? Is this weird to not sit on a sofa together :S all the time?

What does everyone else do :D

Me and my g/f sit where we like
But if we are watching a film we snuggle up on the sofa.

We have

2 bean bags.
1 gaming chair
A single chair
And a corner sofa.

I have a 2 seater and 3 seater, no airchair.
When we want to stretch out and chill she buggers off onto the 2 seater.
The only reason i dont have an armchair to myself is because there isnt room.
Personaly i would love a decent armchair of my own.

We have a 3 seater sofa and a 2 seater sofa. We spend most of out TV time snuggled on the 3 seater.

That said, if we have just had a big meal we both like our own space to 'digest'. So in those instances we either sit at either end of the 3 seater, or one on the 2 seater and one on the 3.

I dont think arm chairs are necessary if you have enough sofa real estate! :D

You can still be separate if you need to :)

She got the hump because you said you may sit on a seat and you plan to marry her. Wait until you have real problems and then see how easy she is to live with ;)

We have a two and a three seater sofa. I usually use the small one as she likes to stretch out on the larger one. I'd hate to think what life will be like if you're worrying about where you sit.

Is someone seriously asking internet strangers how to sit down in their own house?

Pretty much, yes ....lol

OP unless you have a massive living room, armchairs are an over-priced waste of space. Shes being grumpy at you because you're a young man prematurely eyeing up your classic old man chair that you will use like a throne and without doubt in the future refer to as 'your chair' :p ...instead of wanting to snuggle with your newly co-habiting girlfriend.

For reference my fiancee and I have a 2 and 3 seater and unless we're entertaining nearly always sit with each other on the 3 seater in front of the TV.

We don't need any chairs, this is fine for all our needs, we just swap about, my tv in the corner is getting moved so to have better viewing :)
