Hi,

ive not built a pc for about 6 years now so im completely out of touch with parts.

i couldnt tell you what is in my current rig its been that long and its now struggling with newer games. ive got a 1080p monitor and im having to drop setting down to medium and bellow in some things.

since ive just got married and we are settled in our home we have disposable income once again! more importantly ive been given permission.

so im looking to build a pc i wont have to upgrade for a long while and can power 3 monitors in eyefinity. i have a 24" BenQ XL2420T and 2 20" Dell ultrasharps but i will upgrade them to all 24" in the future.

im wanting to get into some proper racing so would like a triple monitor set up for this also.

i was thinking:

2 x 256gb SSD in raid 0. (would this be worth it?)
16gb ram
water cooling? i want it to be as silent as possible.

i dont need case, keyboard, mouse etc.
i also dont need any large hdds as i have a other pc for storage etc. im currently coping in a 128gb ssd.

so help please :)

thanks.

i think i would wait a couple weeks for the new ati cards on this budget, or go a 7990 now
but i think 2 290x on water :)

and you could get a nice 500gb evo instead

this lot might put you over budget tho haha

I don't think the new AMD GPU's are going to live up to hype... but it may be worth keeping one ear to the ground... :)

OP: The idea sounds good so far,

What case do you have? :)

its a nice build
think i would go more tubby cpu

290x's would put way over budget tho so scrap that lol

Sorry mate, many things are wrong with that spec..

You can fix it though..

1) Keep the GPU
2) Maybe only 1 x 250GB SSD or 2 x 120GB SSD is needed.. THe 2 x 120GB's in RAID0.
3) Asus Hero
4) Okay, would try and get the 4770k in there
5) way over the top, Antec 750W or Seasonic 750W will do.
6) That RAM is okay. Though you could get cheaper.
7) i was thinking more custom watercooling. :)

i was thinking custom watercool too but i still like that build,
psu could add a 2nd 7990 later hehe
big ssd is awesome put all ur games on

i can wait for the new ati cards, i will not be buying untill next pay day so ive got time to make sure of what im buying.

my case is a Lian Li v2000, would this cope with water cooling without modding? of not maybe i should get new.

well, tbh its had its day, had many beers spilt down it at lans and is looking worse for ware.

im not up for modding and dont have the tool so maybe i will get a case that suits watercooling.

Couple tweaks may be needed as it's rushed and I'm leaving work in 2 minutes!

Wrong GPU blocks: Was going for 2 7970's but couldn't.

I went massively overboard but it looks awesome.

A nice Blue/silver theme!
