new gaming pc £1500-1800

Starting to get a but worried after seeing all these water cooling pipes Etc. never had water cooling before.

Thats fair enough.. I completely understand...

Would you prefer to stick to CLC's?

It was just a way to get the GPU's silent..

Because the 7990 isn't the qiuetest card in the world and 2 x 770's/7970/7950.. will be quite loud too (two cards) aswell as start to get toasty..

It wouldn't be annoyingly loud, im just working on your idea of silence.. :)

I can do you a non-watercooling spec if you wish? Or are you up for giving watercooling a try? :D

I am up for it. Just a bit worried :p

I'm not really bothered about themes or colours. Just a minimal case tucked under my desk.

No windows or flashing fans or diodes please :)

I think thats fair enough, you just want it for noise/temps (to some extent) rather than pretty looking..

This is screaming Corsair 550D to me..

shame you can only get a 240 and possibly a 120 in there without modding!

Nice and understated on the outside, pure eye candy on the inside :)

Dacia's spec will work :) its abit over budget tho. and for Ripjaw, even tho you can't see why should it not be pretty? Its means that your always be having the side panel off to have a peak at the forbidden fruit that is in side..... if you get my meaning ;)

Like i say ethel i would go for you spec, if i was in this situaition... It is epic looking..

Aslong as he can drop the GPU fans down and they don';t make a lot of noise under load (which i don't think they do) he should be fine and dandy..

It may be nice to include a fan controller though as those fans on top speed make a noise (not massively but audiable)..7V should be fine if you don't want to get a Fan controller. :D

The only reason i did a spec was in case he wanted to go custom water (keep noise very low).. But i'd pick yours.. though id also have a windowed 750D and my face pressed up against it constantly. :D

EDIT: just so the OP know the 7990's are quite loud (cooler wise) so unless you are custom watercooling them i wouldn't bother getting one, for your purpose (noise) anyway.

i dont mind going for a custom loop, i fancy fully watercooled.
.
i really like the Lian Li PC-A76X case, would it be suitable for fitting a custom loop without modding?

choosing between 2 x 7970s/1 x 7990 is tricky.

so i saw this thread

screw it all i want that case.

from reading everyones specs ive put together this. does it look ok?

Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - £249.95

2 X Asus HD 7970 DirectCU II TOP 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £455.98

Corsair Vengeance RED 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit - £161.99

Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI HERO Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard - £161.99

2 X Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s - £291.98

Corsair Builder Series CX 750W Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £79.99

Total : £1,401.88

i dont no anything about the watercooling side so dont no everything i need.

can i watercool cpu and 2 x gpu for £400?

i mite have to stretch the budget to £2000.

Liking the plan buddy.

The 800D is a beauty! :D

Got a few concerns though.. The Asus TOP's are not reference design, so you may will need to source specific waterblocks for the TOP edition (not sure how hard this is)..

Or you could go for a refernce design (spending a bit more).. making it easy to get blocks..

From some research ive found out this is a ref design: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-073-HS

And its on offer this week. (the non-ghz and non x2 are also reference).

Id get the Antec 750W HCG PSU instead, much better.

Make the RAM the Vengeance PRO. :)
