I tried out the New BF4 Beta last night at High settings the same as I use on BF3 and that runs lovely . But wow BF4 Beta killed my card it was so sluggish at high settings ! So it's time for the upgrade.

I want a Single Card that will run BF4 on high settings at 2560 x 1440

I'm happy to spend around £500.

Would I be better of getting 2 x 7950 ? or Just get 1 x 7990 ?

I want something that will last about 2 years just like my brilliant 6950 that up until this game has been brilliant.

Have you tried overclocking it?

I'm using a 6950 with the unlocked shaders and can play it on ultra without aa, granted my fps dip into the high 20s in the most intense sections but average around 45fps.

Res used is 1920*1080.

Edit- sorry flash read your post and completely missed your res.

What CPU do you currently have or intend on getting? This game is bring 4 core CPU's crashing down in lots of instances.

Put the new 13.10 beta v2 drivers on it runs a lot better.

2x 7950 by the time you sell the free games on you'r paying sub £300 for the pair of them :)

Do you have the game installed on an SSD or quick drive ?

When I first tried the game on my 2 Cross-fired 5850's it auto selected a bunch of ultra / high and medium settings but the game was very sluggish. Turns out I'd installed it on a slow drive, once I moved it to my SSD it plays real well.

Also, have you tried the new beta radeon drivers that were released yesterday.

Good Luck.

gotta say the beta runs like a pig on anyones machine (Fps drops, tiny stutters etc) its just a bad build for everyone to "test" on :) that said if you can try the SSD method it "might" help

I really have to wonder what people are smoking sometimes. It's a beta, it's not developed fully, it's not optimised it's not bug fixed (hint: your participation and reports are helping them out!), how many times have people got to say it on this forum for it to sink in? It's like people view the beta as 'the' product without going through the proper thought process of 'why?'.

Seemed to run just fine on my GTX 480 and AMD Phenom II quad, yet other people seem to be having massive performance issues on significantly better hardware, hence.... BETA!!!

Scougar... out!

p.s. Alternatively... hell yeah... clearly you need two R9's to play this.

I have i5 2500K Not over clocked - :) I will go get these new Drivers and report back.

Also I Did try to over clock MSI 6950 and I get Artifects so put it back to default

Also I don't have SSD . Should I invest in one ?

Just tried the new Beta Driver ! Loads better :) Turned of AA as well as at that res don't really notice the different. ;) Not sure what FPS I'm getting but it feels smooth.

Your CPU will limit you massively. BF4 loves threads. An upgrade to a i7 would make a huge difference. This is one of the first games to properly load all 8 threads on a i7. In the meantime o/c your 2500K which will help.
