Chest workout, one problem...

Gustov - what sort of injury did you have? Around 7 years ago I fell off a steep ramp and broke my wrist in 11 places, it was completely disfigured and had to be pulled back into place. I, like you, couldn't put any pressure on it when it was bent or the pain was horrendous, I could do press ups but I had to do them on my knuckles in order to keep the joints aligned as said earlier in the thread. 4 years or so after the injury I was still experiencing sharp pain when using my wrist so I made an appointment with the doc who referred me to the hospital to see a specialist. They performed key hole surgery to burn off and suck out the rough bone that was left from the brakes, it only took about 30 minutes and it dramatically improved my wrist.

I still occasionally get pain and even to this day (7 years on) I keep saying I am going to get a wrist support when lifting but keep forgetting!

It's only suicide if the bar can kill you ;)

In fairness you don't realise the damage/pain the bar can cause until you actually have it rest on/hit your ribs.

I fatigued a set at around 95KG about 2 years ago and figured I'd lower the bar to my chest and try and wave to attract some attention with the other hand, god knows why I didn't just shout:confused:. Soon as I rested the weight on my chest/took one hand off the bar motherofgod.jpg the pain. All that weight & force over such a small area hurt enough without having fallen from height and gained momentum.

Doesn't stop me though :p

Are you able to use machine press or do you have any of the techno gym stuff you could use for three to four months?

I injured my wrist playing football and struggled with push days at the gym. I invested in some wrist straps and found they were a massive help until i healed.
