I have a S939 Opteron 180 still in service for my htpc machine, Clocked at 2880mhz. Running Windows 8 with 4gb of Corsair 3500llpro.

I do plan to get a lowprofile gfx card for it someday to make it game capable. Maybe whatever the successor is to the current 7550. Just don't want to spend too much on that really ;) The internal HD3300 gfx isn't much use for games but happily plays hd video.

Now, just a few screens to show how this old dog performs in 2013.

My Girly is still using my old overclocked opteron 185 rock solid setup that is got our moneys worth out of it for sure

Yep, my brother has my old Socket 939 machine, running an Opteron 185. That machine has been running virtually 24/7 for seven and a half years now, although the Opteron 185 isn't that old. It had something else in it initially.

Typical, if I'd seen this a week or two ago I'd have sent some pictures, my old X2 3800+ is running at my fiancee's parents right now, and I just built them up a 3700+ machine as well from a chip I'd got sitting around.

Good chips for the age, I think they've lasted longer than the motherboards I've had for them which have begun failing from age!

Our AsRock 939 Dual SATA 2 is still going strong after 7+ years of almost 24/7 100% load. Amazing board especially for the money. It has had 3 CPUs in it I think, an Opteron 185 for the last few years.

That's the board I have running the 3800 now! Had a few MSI/Abit (RIP)/DFI and ASUS boards die by now though.

Memory serves me right, a 3800 chip accidentally got lobbed into the trash by the family whilst I was away a few years ago too...

*salute*

Not quite an FX but how about an overclocked Opteron 275 in a very messy watercooled ATC S4000 case?

Wow, that is pretty messy haha. Kinda hurts my head!

Yep, it was my first attempt at watercooling and in a case really not designed for it at all. It gave fantastically low temps though with the 120.3 rad and fans blowing over all components. I managed to fit it all internally with no hint from the outside that it was watercooled and without cutting anything or making any screw holes. The whole front was a mesh and the internal rad fans just gulped in the air.

However it looked atrocious with the side off :D

Gosh, looks really good compared to some of the systems I've built in the past. The first few rigs I've built (and I'm talking 10+ years ago) were really messy, I wish I'd pictures to show you. It was before "cable management" came around...
