Nvidia spends 5 million on Ubisoft deal

Ubisoft my god lol horrible company.. Not just on PC either Ghost recon on ps3 from what I know to this day never got patched for online.
FC2 online was broken never fixed, never fixed FC3
And they the release the worst Program ever Uplay with slow downloads.

I will never buy another Ubi game again.

Meh, not interested in any of these games. First to tie up with Valve and bring forward the release of HL2:EP3 gets my attention. That's how you really progress the industry.

If you step back and look at it logically, Nvidia are the (Current graphics leader, 'Market share') and have been for a long while. Is Nvidia really going to be hamstrung because AMD have midrange GPU's in consoles?

It's no where near that simple bud, Nvidia have buddied up with the biggest developers, they spend millions in R&D, they push PC technologies and aim directly at the enthusiast PC gamer market, you could argue they are just not interested in the console space. The next architecture is supposed to be revolutionary. Just because AMD have the console GPU contracts, won't stop PC enthusiast wanting the best hardware in their PC's, that could still well be Nvidia.

Nvidia's 'Maxwell' is going to be a monster arch, plain and simple, a lot of people might feel a lil foolish after spouting that Nvidia are simply going to roll over because AMD have console contracts.

Nvidia will push PC as it's primary platform, and lead the way with Valve on the living room OpenGL PC gaming thing, will go hand in hand with other portable devices Nvidia are working on.

Nvidia posted $1.1 Billion in revenue Q4 2013. I can't see them going anywhere..

Your still not getting it are you  Nvidia has right now NOTHING after 2013 PC Gaming wise. It would cost them way more than a few million to sponsor multiple PC games to ensure they favour Nvidia GPU's the economics simply do not stack up they would end up spending way more than the increased income from more unit sales. The main reason Nvidia has market share is their drivers used to be very good but now TWIMTBP program has been killed by Nvidia themselves its no longer a selling point. For many years AMD GPU's have superior IQ its was only the drivers which made many avoid AMD so now they are getting on top of that & have the console GPU's most PC gamers except the most blindly loyal green can see the writing is on the wall for Nvidia in 2014 & beyond they will give AMD all their gains if not a lot more. Nvidia will still be here in a year & much longer but they will not be anymore than a minor factor in PC gaming regardless of hardware the drivers & optimisation are what makes all the difference & having the same developers use your GPU on all 3 platforms is key here ;)

Meh, rolling eyes and more negative fud.

Nvidia will be fine, they made a fortune in 2013 and I'm sure they will in 2014, a midrange GPU in a console will not effect the high end PC market nearly as much as some of you think.

Oh well, I will enjoy seeing the comments when Maxwell launches, will re post the sales figures in 2014 :D.

I love how anti Nvidia this forum is. Well as it turns out it seems 290X isn't all it was cracked up to be anyway. But I'm sure that won't get touched on much on here.

Stop taking sides, neither products are perfect. Wasn't all that long ago that people were taking the Mick out of Nvidia's marketing whilst AMD had practically none what so ever. It gets so, soooo boring...

As for the post above. What on gods earth are you talking about.

^^ This.

I doubt people will stop buying Nvidia for a long time, the brand is really strong. Even if AMD do become dominant and shut out the green team, NV can leverage their IP and partnerships for value-adds and make a comeback.

Imagen how silent(dooh like no one is talking) the forum would be if we didnt have the red camp vs green camp aficionados fight it out all the time :).

I think you are right. Even if AMD somehow has found or will find the holy grail and could totally and utterly destroy anything nvidia throws out or has thrown out the nVidia camp is fairly large and most of those people dont even know why they own an nvidia card to begin with besides that everybody else says its cool. Same goes for AMD on certain forums. Its fanboyism that sells GPUs and it is the greatest marketing tool to have ever been invented. If this was about religion then we are looking at full blown fanatics.

AMD cut a cute one with their Never Settle promo and caught Nvidia napping - that swayed me and probably many others at the time to go AMD. Cheaper card, similar performance with a 30 quid resale of a NS promo card to top it off. Nvidia, not surprisingly are cutting their own deals moving forward.

However, Nvidia have got too complacent, Titan was just an absolutely ridiculous pricepoint and was evidence of their self-supposed superiority in the market.

If AMD can compete on both price and performance, with this new found driver support - we have a fun few years ahead of us.

There is one small flaw in your logic

The Titan absolutely flew off the shelves at a much greater rate than the pre orders for the R9 290X are doing at the moment.
