last few days there have been a couple of flashes here n there, not too close this time. Last week lightning hit a field 30ft from my house. Shut off all power to PC before hand

Had a massive storm yesterday morning around 3am in Somerset, decided to watch it all from the swimming pool with a beer, was excellent!

I don't think there has even been a single formidable storm for a good few years or more here in the midlands. A few rumbles and some lighting but power never goes out, not like it use too.

Don't want one, last time something like that happened there was a strike not far away and there was crackle of sparks and static from the electrics and darn near fried the PC :rolleyes:

Modem never quite worked the same again, same for the telephone. That prompted me to invest in some surge protection.

there was a hell fo storm a few months ago in nottingham. Went on for about 5 hours and including some flash flooding in the city. lightening was mental
