Booking a holiday

Been using IE10 inPrivate... just did the exact same search in FireFox and it came up £10 cheaper. Not sure if I should just book the cheaper ones now (£420pp but leaving an hour and a half later than originally planned) or wait and see how many more times it changes over the next few days!

I'm booking 5 months in advance so I thought it would be fairly stable? Is there anywhere better than SkyScanner for flights only?

Book directly with the airline if you can get it at the best price. It saves so much hassle if things go **** up.

I've checked with the airlines but their prices seem higher. Just tried to book via SkyScanner but when they passed me through to the website who were offering the price, it turns out it was a flight being offered by another airline (I chose BA but the flight was being flown by American Airlines?)

Would prefer to go and come back with the same airline really. I've flown with BA before and never had a problem - American Airlines, United Airlines and Delta who all seem to be offering similar deals are not known to me.

This is common and the BA website will offer you the same thing - it's a Codeshare. BA and AA have an alliance on Transatlantic flights. They sell capacity on each others planes etc.

Just make sure you check who the flight is operated by when booking and you can avoid other carriers if you want.

Can't really think of a reason why not - there are no exceptional airlines on this route really, they are all fairly average so whilst AA isn't one of the best airlines none of them are on that route.

Suprised Virgin Atlantic isn't coming in slightly cheaper though? They always are for me which is why I've pretty much flown with nobody else over the Atlantic!

They're all within £20 or £30 of eachother per person, to get the times I want though I can get BA for £460pp which is £40 cheaper overall than Virgin - but still more than it was a couple of days ago.

Should I go ahead and book now incase it carries on going up, or is it likely to come down again?

How long is a piece of string? Is there a sale on, if not I would be amazed if they don't come down a bit but you really never know.

Screw it, I'm just gonna get it done. We're only talking a few tens of pounds here and there... better to get it locked in I guess.

Booked direct with BA - got the times I wanted and paid a wee bit more to be on a BA plane both ways.

I assume I can fill in the additional passenger info at a later date? Realised today my passport expires in Aug next year so will have to get that renewed before I leave as I don't think they'll let me in with less than 6 months to go on it?

How much will they generally knock off in these sales? I paid £460pp with BA to and from JFK. Morning flight out so we get at least half a day, then late evening flight back so we get most of the day there too.
