EK Water Blocks Shows Off EKFC7970 Matrix Full Water Block

EK Water Blocks has released the EK-FC7970 Matrix, a water cooling block specifically for Asus' Radeon HD 7970 Matrix. Asus' card is built on a non-reference PCB and consequently its users were previously restricted to using the stock cooler if they didn't want to manually piece together a cooling system.

Why all the cables? Doesn't the chassis come with cables anyway?

Chasis and PSU yes..

But these are the correct colour to match the theme, they are not needed but they make the build looks very very nice..

Example:

XSPC Razor 7970 VGA Waterblock seems to light up blue :p anyone know if they can be turned off?

blue gfx card glowing up would ruin the look of black and red :p

seems the budget will have to stretch to £2200!

Maybe you could change to something like this:

YOUR BASKET
2 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC7970 - Nickel Plexi CSQ £79.99 (£159.98)
2 x Mayhems X1 UV Oil Black Premixed Watercooling Fluid 1L £7.99 (£15.98)
2 x XSPC HighFlex Hose 3/8" ID, 5/8" OD, 16/10mm, 2m, Clear £6.49 (£12.98)
Total : £200.95 (includes shipping : £10.00).

Replaced the black tubing with clear tubing and black coolant, will actually make it easier to bleed aswell then (as you can see what you're doing. :D

Silver blocks, the clear bit will fill black and look awesome..

have a look at my signature. i just spent similar amount on mine.

the only different thing i did to most suggestions here is went for a smaller SSD and less fancy ram, then pour the saving into a second hand 7970. so i can have a 7970/7990 crossfire.

Also looking for a build like this. The colour modular cables can you connect them straight into the PSU or do you need to use the cables that come with the PSU then attach the new colour ones to them?

I'm looking at the new RM Corsair PSU's mainly.

told the wife of the new budget and she seems ok :)

i like the red psu cables but they can wait for another day to save a bit of cash.

think i have my build sorted then.

wonder when ocuk will get the case in stock. they state no ETA. a place near me has it in stock if need be tho.

Keeping tabs on the 800d to see when its back in stock and its gone of the catalogue!

Have corsair stopped production?

i just cant decide on gpu/s

do i go R290x - HIS Radeon R9 290X Boost 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £439.99

or 2 x R280x - HIS Radeon R9 280X iPower IceQ X2 Boost 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £491.98

or 2 x 7970 -HIS HD 7970 IceQ X² 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £539.98

will 2 T280x out perform a 290x? i will have to wait another 2 weeks for a R290 too.

im leaning towards 2 x 280x.

im going to keep everything stock fans then next month or Christmas, watercool it all. (mrs booked an expensive night in a hotel :/)

Two 280's will outperform a single 290.

Your choice of PSU is a bit lacklustre, 750W+ is right for that sort of system but the CX range are made by CWT and not the best quality inside even by CWT standards. Although if someone was on a budget and using a lower powered system then the CX430/500 would be fine.

A good alternative would be the Antec High Current Gamer 750W Modular which is still modular and made by Seasonic.

Haha, and I was worried my little poject is going to expensive :-)
Doing cpu loop next saturday, going to cost me just a bit over 200£ and that,sa cheap one, no bells or whistles. Gpu + loop = another 400-450£. I think I am close to spending 1500£ and this is just a mini itx rrig :-)

Oh anddseen last comment: evga ftw :-) I love my 750w psu from them.

first parts acquired!
