Playstation account hacked and purchased a digital copy GTA V

Tried searching and have only found out of date email addresses for CEO's of sony. Even tried emailing the current CEO using the format of the other addresses which failed.

I don't really want to email customer services again would like to find a address of someone higher up in the business but have failed at this. :o

Don't suppose the OCUK detective club have better skills them myself in tracking down Sony email address.

Edit: Letter to head office will be in the post tonight

Higher ups are fairly active on Twitter. Ask on there, the public exposure should help.

Just report it to your bank as a fraudulent transaction, they'll give you the money back and let them fight Sony for the money back. This is why I always buy online with my credit card.

He'll get his money back that way for sure, but Sony will put his account into negative, effectively banning him unless he coughs up the £50 he claims from the bank/card issuer, from what I have read.

No did I miss that I should have contacted them? (Found the website never heard of them before btw) I have contacted Watchdog will see if anything comes of that or if they have had other reports of people having the same issues.

I would if it were me. Hit em where it hurts - image. Hope you get it sorted because when it is obvious fraud you need good consumer service.

Agreed, I'd reference the massive several month ****-up from a couple of years ago and mention how the media might view the fact that they still seem to have major security issues...

There could be the argument that it was their lax security that may well have compromised your account and their potential culpability along with their inaction would not look good at all.

Any update on this? Just had someone from Hong Kong steal £80 wallet funds and got the same response...
Can't even do a charge back because it wasn't taken from my card just my wallet :@

Give trading standards a call.... not refunding digital purchases is one thing, not correcting fraud is another.

This one reason why I have a separate bank account I use for all online transactions... it cannot go overdrawn all that happens if someone tried to buy something would be a decline and maybe a snotty letter from the bank. If I want to buy anything I move the funds to this account via online banking then buy as normal. Never ever EVER have your main back account linked to anything like steam, ebay, Microsoft, sony or any of them.....

How does this work? Don't you need a CC to buy stuff from PSN? Can you buy stuff from PSN via bank transfer?

CC's don't normally work as debit cards they give credit then ask you at the end of the month to pay?

Edit: I would go down the fraud route and then when they ban you you have a good case for escalating it and giving them bad publicity for not protecting their customers. Shame SONY into not acting on a case of fraudulent purchases. I had my Apple account hacked and purchases made but I only use prepaid apple vouchers so they didn't get that much but apple refunded it instantly no questions although I did get a nice email explaining how to protect my account.

I'm sure my account was hacked using public wifi.
