Origin PC drops AMD graphics options due to feedback, support woes

What a pointless thing to do. Why would you not stock something, even if you don't sell as many or am I missing something?

It is pretty clear, just as they tried to mar the new AMD GPU launch they are willing to throw cash at smearing their opponents completely puts me off such a company.

It mentions poor drivers and in the last year AMD have gone pretty hard on driver support so I totally agree with that CAT.

Just read the article and it does make more sense now.

Many gaming PC builders stock both AMD and NVIDIA video hardware to guarantee that they always have the fastest graphics. Not Origin PC, however -- it has had enough trouble with AMD that it's dropping all Radeon GPUs from its lineup. The company tells Engadget that it's responding to "customer experiences," support team demands and problems with both performance and stability. While there are still plenty of vendors that carry Radeon graphics, Origin PC's move is a blow to AMD's image;

I guess they had lots of issues.

It would be nicer if PC companies were just more honest and said they were an exclusive Nvidia partner,instead of being a PR mouthpiece for the company.

Desktop PCs are already declining in number,so it sad it needs to get down to this level.

It just makes people think consoles are just less troublesome, and of course they are cheaper when it comes to hardware.

Which goes for any brand really. I am quite happy to part with a couple of hundred on a performance product regardless of their loyal following. There's a difference between promoting something that is performing above expectation and promoting something that is discrediting a competitor.

Fair points and it is no different to HIS being exclusive to AMD and EVGA being exclusive to Nvidia. We know this and accept this and they are open about it. The more I think about it, the more I can see some Nvidia exclusivity but I still feel they would have said "We are teaming up with Nvidia to bring you blah blah blah".

Congratulations, you can copy part of a quote so it appears differently out of context /clap

I believe the correct quote is:

This decision was based on a combination of many factors including customer experiences, GPU performance/drivers/stability, and requests from our support staff. Based on our 15+ years of experience building and selling award winning high-performance PCs, we strongly feel the best PC gaming experience is on NVIDIA GPUs.

IIRC this is the same reason OcUK no longer stock XFX GPU's or Swiftech water cooling.
