Gtx titan and gtx 780 pricedrops

~>Dg<~ rescent months shown they dont need to....

People will bitch and buy.

I would take atm everything with a pinch of salt. They just try to hold off the "firesale" of the 79xx series.

The 7950 & 7970 prices have plummeted over the course of the last 8 weeks.
8 weeks and Nvidia hasn't responded. The article says that they are not going to respond until early November when the new Radeons come out. That is 12 weeks of a one sided price war.

And makes no sense, because the current 79xx are bargains and given the economical circumstances, people look for bargains.

And that comes from me, where I had Nvidia cards since 2006, and got this week my first Radeon since 2002.

they have to drop prices if the amd counter part is less and performs same.

Ehm, they do actually right now as we speak (and almost whole September)
7950-70-90 outperform everything that Nvidia has on their price bracket, and the 7990 outperforms even more expensive solutions like the Titan.

Hell, £300 difference between the more powerful 7990 over the Titan, is huge.

Nvidia has nthing to offer and they cannot develop new stuff, because market share so low. AMD develops stuff and it will go to 100s of millions of devices.

Great input...

Personally, I am hoping that the 290X beats the Titan and AMD release it at £450. I can then get another Titan cheaper :D

If 780 prices do drop id actually be tempted to move over from my current 670's. Then later add another secondhand 780.

If I was in charge at NV

Id be hitting
760 2gb at current 179.99 is fine
770 2gb at 259.99
770 4gb at 319.99
780 3gb at 419.99
Titan at 599

Then introduce 750,770ti, 780ti and leaves room for a Titan Ultra or 790 dual GPU card.

Then sell that motor vehicle of yours, buy some shares and take them over! :p

I'm poised to buy a new 'big rig', only holding back in the hope that this price drop occurs soon - a Titan at that price would be very tempting. I wonder how many other people are holding off buying a new GPU at the moment with similar thoughts?

I vote Gibbo for Nvidia CEO.

Same here. Currently accumulating parts, but holding off on the GPU. Keeping my fingers crossed that AMD's new cards will shake up the market.

Im happy with my gtx690 but im buying into the amd hype for good or for bad.Especially as its now the core gpu in the new consoles and mantle etc.

Im waiting to see the r290x performance and the shake up of the market.

Competition is always good.
