It took me until my second day to really get used to the game but now I'm back into the same stride I was with BF3, mainly I guess because I haven't even played 3 in a long while.
Essentially, it's the same game to me, all the nuances are there and things work exactly how you'd expect them to, mostly.
However I do enjoy it, it's the small changes which make it nicer for me.
Vehicle main weapons and gunner slots having recharging ammo, it's perfect and stops them going on a complete utter rampage, although this map favours the helicopter incredibly, the -only- thing you need to worry about is the other helicopter. Stingers or recon spotter+engineer, boats or HMG on vehicles, nope, doesn't matter!
It stops tanks for the most part spamming over and over and over on infantry knowing if they come up against another tank then they've made a huge mistake.
TTK seems between normal and HC for the most part, aside from some vehicle weapons quite clearly having the damage done reduced on infantry. However if this is normal, I wonder what HC is like, the mode I prefer.
Hit-reg or damage - It seems a bit iffy, I never had issues hitting people but there's is a clear issue with the damage being done or the representation of other people shooting, I've recorded hours of gameplay to edit a video and the amount of times I've killed someone, without a headshot when they're at full health after they killed a friendly I'm in comms with in an instant is insane.
Most times you have to pump a fair amount of bullets into people, but other times they just drop instantly. The same happens to me, see someone fire off maybe 2/3 bullets and I'm a goner. It's almost as if that bug from BF3 is back where moving targets take more damage.
There are a few times where I've mowed down people with an LMG for not a single one to hit, I generally play on servers with around 40 to 60 ping.
I'd assume that due to the changes in the netcode and the twitchy style of play, the game has issues showing opponents fire their weapon in time and in whole. However this never stopped games a decade ago being free of those issues.
Battlescreen, the abuse and advantage it can bring is quite amazing with a second screen, while the minimap is essentially the same thing for your general area, full screen and higher resolution map helps a lot when you use it. It's a gimmick that serves no reason than to give players omnipresent awareness of the entire battlefield.
Explosive Spam - While I was absolutely against the use of RPGs/Grenade Launchers and such against infantry when people spam it the XM-25 being a main infantry use weapon is prime for doing exactly that. Played with my friends last night, I was the support with upgraded ammo-kit, two supports in total, another engineer and recon, ontop of a building.
You barely need to adjust for trajectory since the device inherently auto corrects to a point, it airburts, it's rapid fire and has thermals. We just rained down fire together it was too easy clearing points, you can use it against light vehicles easily and if you're still ontop of a building, two of you can take out a tank with them too before they can really do anything about it, it's going to get abused sooooo much when everyone unlocks ammo kits, can't imagine what it's going to be like with mortars on that map.
Fire a few mortars from ontop of a building, quickly switch to xm-25 and shoot the same area, destruction supreme!
