Insuring two cars

Found the ad, in addition to the above clean up the exhaust, hoover the interior and take some better pictures where there isn't any rubbish lying about etc.

It just looks like its a car that is lkying around uncared for at the moment - which it probably is but giving that impression won't help shift it. If its a good one then don't let it go too cheaply, it will take time to sell but there are lotd of ropey exampokes kicking around

You don't need the insurance statement, if anyone calls just ask them to bring it, if its got decent rubber mention the brand, if it has had cooling system or engine ancillaries worked on mention that too

Talk to admiral on the phone and they should be able to mirror some NCB for you so you'll have some to use on each car, also as they're both more performance oriented cars try some specalisits like Sky, greenlight etc but being under 25 may be an issue with a scooby, i know not many insure under 25's in an STi dunno if they insure WRX's though..

Not sure about Admiral but when i was selling my Astra I could insure it for a certain number of months with Direct Line rather than a full year. I had my BMW as the main car with all the no claims etc.

I insured my Astra for a month at £97 as I wasn't sure how much longer it would take to sell. Do you have anyone else as a named driver on your policy?

I have my mum on mine and it dropped it down quite a bit.

Putting the feelers out about insuring both my 330i and Impreza, currently the 330i is SORN and off the road. Thought being is that I've had next to no interest in the 330i and I rather like it so may just keep it!

Just done a quick multicar quote at Admiral to start next Jan which came through at £2000 which is high but doesn't seem too bad?

Are there any other companies I could try that would be good for this, I'm 24 with 6 years NCB, 7 in January. No accidents / points.

How do you expect people to testdrive an untaxed uninsured car?

I just want to keep both to be fair, attachment to each and I like both equally in different ways

My mileage is very low the only outlay is going to be ins and another load of tax initially I need to speak to bell or Admiral about mirroring ncd

Hi there

I insure the 911 with Mannings which cost me £700 ish a year, covers uk/Europe and unlimited track days per year in uk and Europe, ring covered too.

The M3 and Jaaag I insure with classic line as limited mileage policies, the Jaaaag is about £270 and the M3 around £380, this kind of policy does not use NCB, so is pretty well priced. :)

So give classic line a call.

I did a few multicar quotes for the Disco/325i/106 and they all came out more expensive than three separate policies. :-/

Hey Gibbo,

they seem really reasonable, I do need to do some shopping around. If kept, the BMW would be used for cruising back up North to visit family as it's a little bit kinder on the ears :p

Just out of interest, I am toying with the idea of delving into a second (fun times) car for the weekend etc.

I have absolutely no real idea of the mileage I may cover per year. So anyone that does run such cars how many miles do you commonly do, how many miles does a limited mileage policy cover as an average. ~3-5K?

Depends on the policy, you can sometimes tell them what your mileage will be and they will insist it is not exceeded, in other cases they will insist its under say 6k per year. Just call and ask

Admiral will mirror my NCB, managed to get it a little cheaper...

Means I'd pay £600 odd for the 330i now for a fresh years cover and another £600 odd when the Impreza is due for renewal in January they will both then run to this time next year..

Doesn't seem to bad considering the performance of both vehicles and my age?

I'd then expect a bit of a drop next year when I reach 25.

Am I realistically likely to get this cheaper, i.e the 330i on a low mileage policy for my age because it will be very low mileage.

In my experience when I turned 25 my insurance did not drop by that much.

The biggest insurance drops came from being a member of a car club (Cliosport.net) and going through the insurers on there. Helped me out massively and cut my premiums in half!

Got the 330i insured with Sky who mirrored my NCB for £450, spoke to a friendly chap who even gave me the 20% scoobeynet discount because I have an Impreza!

Chuffed with that result
