Specs:

i7 4770k, Corsair H100i, Gigabyte Z87 UD5H, Kingston XMP Beast 2400mhz 16gb RAM

I am having issues overclocking. Running everything at stock (3.5ghz), it's all good. I can run stress tests, video encoding, etc, perfectly fine. No issues. No crashes.

My overclocking setup is causing issues. Stress tests/video encodes fail after a few minutes.

Turbo boost DISABLED
EIST ENABLED
C1E ENABLED
C3/C6 ENABLED.
Power options (in windows) = balanced

Ratio = 45, CPU Vcore = 1.300v

CPU VRIN External Override = 1.800v (confirm its not 1.85)
CPU Ring Voltage = NORMAL

Uncore Ratio = 41 (4.1ghz)

RAM. Load XMP profile

Change command rate to 1T

I then tried lowering ratio to 40 (4ghz), but I still get crashes

Suggestions?

Thanks

try without c3/c6 enabled drop down to 4ghz and reduce the vcore to stock volts increase by 1 jump in the bios untill you hit stable. Once you have 4 stable then try increasing the multi by 1 and add vcore as needed.

If your testing your OC always use "High performance mode"

But doesn't 'high performance mode' mean that the cpu will constantly run at 1.3v? (i.e it won't idle at 0.132v)
