I read an i7 would better serve me with HT but I want a 27' 1440p Korean monitor and another 660 first. Curious of the frames I would get or should I just stick with 1080p and 660's in SLI?

Cheers.

Firstly thank you for the response. I appreciate it.

You state a 660 SLI setup won't have enough bandwidth or memory, but does that mean the framerate/FPS would be unplayable at max?

Perhaps if I were to get rid of AA, do you think it would still be unplayable? If so, what setup would you recommend given I have a [email protected]?

Cheers.

Possibly. It might be ok at Medium-High details.

Great. Thanks guys.

If I did want ultra with 4xAA what graphics setup would you recommend? Would I also need an i7 to fully utilise SLI or perhaps a 780GTX or wait for a 880GTX?

mega ££ for an 880 though? what about a pair of cheap 7970s on the MM to tide you over, lots of vram plenty of speed.

Yes, I read conflicting reports on 1440p being either too much for their single card setups or easily able to handle the bigger resolution.

I think it all comes down to adding any AA. Some people are happy with 1440p without any AA and some people are not.

You are right about the 880GTX being a premium, completely forgot about that. I think I would prefer SLI compared to Xfire though as I have read more problems with Xfire and the framerate in general is worse. Please prove me wrong if otherwise.

I will buy the monitor soon and trial my lonesome 660 at 1440p. I will then make a calculated opinion on how much more performance I need.

Thanks for butting heads with me, it really helps. :)

:) Xfire did have horrid stutter problems but (at least for me) the recent drivers fixed that on 95% of games.
I too use 1440p, and started with a single 7970 and yes you deffo need x2 to max things out, especially on the new games (so if you plan of Bf4'ing it up, two will be a must)

As others have said really, without MSAA it's generally OK. For a lot of people the need for AA is largely reduced or removed by moving to a 2.5k resolution.
