Hi guys.
It's time for me to sell my 2007 CTR GT. I will be trading this in plus cash to the limit of £15k
I'm having a hard time deciding what cars next for me from these possibilities:

Audi 2.0 TFSI
Seat Leon Cupra R
Golf GTI
Scirocco TFSI
Renault Megane RS250

There are a few constraints I want to stick too if possible:
No more than 3yrs old
Mileage no more than 40k
£15k max including trade-in

Your comments are welcome and advice appreciated.

Thanks :D

I would take a Clio Cup over a Megane, but I know that would make me a lone voice in a crowd of Renault lovers. To me it is more fun, more sorted and a better road car.

Can you not get a 265 with £15k these days?

For me out of the cars you mentioned, the Megane would get my vote, hands down! Infact, the rest of the mentioned vehicles are not my cup of tea at all.

If you can it would be around 35-40k miles, no idea what the condition would be like.

I got a Megane just over a month ago, 250 with Cup Pack. It seems to ride better than the Civic Type-R I drove, and actually feels fast unlike the Civic too. It can feel a bit dull at times, as it seems you really need to push it to get the most out of it around corners, which is a bit hard to do on the roads.

Looking on Autotrader, I can't see one for less than £18k

Could you give me the pros & cons of the Megane over the CTR. What about interior, equip spec, rear seat room etc etc

The Meganes are great for jumping in and giving them death - I wouldn't really want one though, don't really know why tbh!

I don't really see what you're gaining for the significant increase in cost with any of them though, do you just fancy quite a new car?

Rear seat room seemed about the same, the Megane is a bit darker in the rear due to smaller windows. Apart from that the Megane seemed better on everything that I could see.

I couldn't waste 6-12 months waiting for an Astra VXR to drop in price, not when there's MK6 GTI and RS Megane in budget...

Is it just me that thinks none of these cars are a great improvement on the OPs existing car? Seems a waste of money in my eyes

Sod the age limit and get a BMW 135i.

I fail to see the need to replace a relatively new 4-pot hatch with another, relatively new 4-pot hatch.

-edit just seen Focus RSs can be had for 17k. Worth a look, surely?

If it were me, and I had a CTR GT and 15K to spend. I'd pick up a good 07ish STI for a bit less. I couldn't justify personally, spending 15K on a car and buying something that was essentially on a par or there abouts with what I already have.

But! If I had to choose out of those. I'd go for either the Cupra R or the Megane. Depending on how I felt on the day of purchase. If I felt I wanted the extra doors the Curpa, if not the Megane.
