Holiday Pay

Hello.

I started a new job around 5 months ago. I had a week off and noticed I havn't been paid anything.

I used to think you had to work there 12 months but I had a quick look online and couldn't find anything about working with the company for 12 months before you were entitled to holiday pay.

Anyone else know, before I question my boss?

Check your contract, more than likely just a pay error.
Never had a job, you had to wait for Holliday pay.

Hmm yeah. I don't seem to have a contract. He just said he will give me 16 hours minimum a week (so I could come of the job seekers allowance). I usually do a few extra days though.

When I started I said aslong as you can give me 16 hours so I don't have to keep signing on/off JSA.

I didn't want to question it much as I had done IT at college for 3 years then came out of college and it was 2 years before this opportunity came about to work in the IT section.

I think im stuffed because I don't have a written contract but I bit his arm off when I had the opportunity to work in IT and gain some experience in that area.

You've been there long enough to accumulate more than 1 weeks worth of paid holiday.

Yeah, a mate told me it will be where you earn your holiday sort of thing. Each day is so many minutes holiday. I don't know the propper word as you can guess. lol
