Car hit on my street

Oh, now I get it.

'Parked on the left hand side of the road, facing the end of the cul-de-sac' is much better for people like me!

Although I'd have to agree with the sentiment above in that case, if she's turning to leave the cul-de-sac and hit your car, clearly you're parked too close to the junction.

have you heard anything from the family yet, if not I'd go round and 'remind' them that they can either pay you £150 cash by tomorrow night so that you can get the damage sorted out, or you'll be ringing your insurance company and reporting the incident...

Or she has no spacial awareness and can't drive...

I have a pic taken from the CCTV, I can post that if you want.

I went to the police last night, there was another guy in there reporting another incident and he knew her dad, awkward...

is the pic of her? if not... don't bother... xP i kid ;) (out of 10? :p )

wow yea bet that was a little awkward, shouldn't be though as you're just a member of the public making the police aware like you should....as was he :)

so they not coughed up le cash yet?

also with admiral my insurance went up after a "non-fault" claim against a woman who rear ended me. didn't go up by much tho..like £20-30 (after haggling the price back down xD )

Most of the main stream lenders want to load up you premium after a non-fault claim.

My first year with Admiral was £990 with 0 NCB
Come renewal, one non fault claim and 1 NCB they wanted £1008 or about £880 through comparisons sites. It was lower without the claim.

Insurers like Greenlight don't load on claims. In the end I got my insurance plus some new mods declared for £680

I was side swiped by a drunken driver. The police attended and he was breathalysed and arrested on the roadside.

I claimed through his insurance and the result was a non fault claim with my insurance.

I now pay £80 more a year on my insurance because I am deemed a higher risk. I claimed no injury expenses and my car was repaired.

@OP. I would try for non insurance first, but in my experience the insurance will load your premium for three years.

I have heard of people trying to claim for increase in premiums due to accidents, not sure how successful they were though, but whiplash claims are ten a penny now and can serve the same purpose for you, mine did anyway.

Here it is at the point of contact.

does she turn left or right after driving past your car? I don't understand with all that space how someone managed that it's not like she's driving a bus

She was probably on the phone/doing her lipstick. If they are not going to pay up, you'll have to go the insurance route, but as already said it will cost you as well :(

I know it is on a cul-de-sac but should you be that close to the T junction?

There's no legal law on parking close to a junction, though its recommended to be 15ft away (iirc, somewhere around 15ft, i can't remember).

Either way, why are you judging the OP on something so trivial, are you a complete saint when it comes to driving?

Regardless of where hes parked, clearly you'd have to not be paying attention to actually manage to hit the parked car.

You have her registration, proof of the incident and witnesses.

If you want it rectified report it to your insurance company and provide them with all of the details, job done.

You could always try to try to deal with it outside of the insurance if you enjoy being messed around and lied to.
