Hot 7970 matrix plat.. RMA?

Never known a Matrix to have issues with its stock OC, they are pretty much the only HD 7970GHz that will all clock to 1200MHz+ with ease and most do 1250-1350. :)
PSU no doubt as that card can probably pull easily 250-300W when under-load.

Mine had the same issue.

Yeah it might well be PSU with what he was saying about it (his PC?) not turning back on for a while, I just threw that out there as factory overclocked cards are sometimes a source of problems.

Thanks all.
Will think about a new PSU but its running fine with the case side off in BF4 beta with the GPU maxed out. It has crashed twice though when the case is done up. Dunno if its just the air flow making the temps rush up causing the crash or if the temp is increasing the power draw causing the crash. Either way.. air flow is definitely an issue.

Your PSU only has a single 34A 12v line. It's a tad on the low side for a high end GPU tbh I would upgrade to something with a stronger 12v line.

I have the same card and it runs 72.c at 1200/7000 auto fan profile. My case has 5 x 140mm Corsair fans circulating air. The Matrix does a great job of cooling the card but dumps a huge amount of hot air into the case that needs to be expelled. You really need a good cooling set-up to get the best from it.

As your case only has a 120mm input and a 120mm out I would leave the side off as well.
