Hi Guys,

I was looking at purchasing the "OcUK Ultima Hardcore 7" IPS 8GB Tablet PC". I was wondering whether anyone has any experience using one/owning one?
Would you recommend this or another tablet of sorts?

I am concerned to purchase this as it appears too good to be true. A friend of mine ordered a tablet which was a similar price range and specs, they ended up returning it as it was terrible.

Thanks

Its a good tablet performance wise and screen wise, but on battery life is short, but hence the price. Expect 1-2hr use on battery have the unit has being charged a few times.

Battery life on these is terrible, charging it up every hour is a pain.

Same with al small cheap Chinese tablets. On 7"-8" sizes for decent battery life need 4500mAH or greater ideally and nothing can compare to Apple on battery life, the Asus Nexus 7-2 are not bad, but of course they cost several times more.

Well I got one for the wife for basic browsing as a christmas present.

Impressed with what you get for the money, the back panel is made of metal which surprised me :)

The only gripe I have is I may RMA it. Ive only just had chance to test it out. There is a bit of debris inside the screen, shows up when browsing the web (white backgrounds) I have OCD so that would really wind me up no end.

My son has the one ocuk were selling last christmas... 7" ocuk brand or something. Anyway he has ragged the hell out of it! it has fallen on the floor dozens of times and always comes back like its immortal or something lol!

But the battery is starting to really show its age now and I am wondering if it can be replaced or not? If one can be sourced it will only take a short while to whip out the old one and solder in the new!
