GTX 680 to AMD 7970?

If you are talking about swapping your 1241Mhz 680 to a 7970, that would be daft, as you would not see any benefit at all.

Stay with what you've got, unless you're playing more AMD biased titles or you need a little extra horse power for a very high resolution.

i would buy the cheaper one. I have been having the same dilemma and with much research, they are really really close.

the other thing i would note would be, if you want to play BF4 then i would go with the AMD, but if you are going to play COD Ghosts then Nvidia.

No way. It would be a side grade at best. They both trade blows from game to game and as your 680 can get a pretty good core clock i would just stick with that.

Sell up and get a 7970 while they're cheap..

1. They're still faster

2. The GTX680 won't age very well due to 2Gb memory and smaller memory bus then a 7970.

Over time the 7970 should last you longer...

the 7070 is an excellent card but that would be total madness bordering on stupidity. he'd loose a fortune selling that second hand and gain almost nothing , if anything at all.

keep the card you have a gtx680 will last for years , wait for the next generation before you do anything ,
