Got a few days off coming up, so fancy going away for a few nights with 'er indoors. I'll be coming from Aberdeen to Glasgow (driving, so anywhere is possible) so somewhere in between would be nice.

Requirements: Somewhere nice, I think she'd like a castle type of thing.
Decent restaurant.
Somewhere that'll have other folk staying, it'll be Saturday & Sunday night.
Less than £100 a night.

Any suggestions?
 
Splash the cash you miserable Git. All that bonus your getting shifting dacias. Crieff Hydro was up there last week stunning place

Grand Central in Glasgow is nice... is in Glasgow so lots of access to restaurants... think that's probably a little over budget though but might be able to get a bargain on late rooms or some such.
 
If you don't mind a half decent chain place then there are a couple of Hilton's in Glasgow you can often get reasonable deals on - there is one in the city centre and also the Strathclyde Hilton further out which I think I paid a bargain 50 quid a night for.
 
Hah, some good responses!

£100 a night is fine I thought! But I could go higher than that. I'd rather save on the room and pay more at dinner/wine. Don't want to stay in Glasgow, it's not that special to stay at a hotel in your own town.

Stayed at Dakota near Edinburgh about a month ago. Theres one near glasgow so check it out. The restaurant is really good but your looking at around £100 for 3 course meal with drinks. Room rates are reasonable. Its basicially a glorified premier inn so the outside isn't very picturesque but the inside makes up for it.
